Hi everyone. 2000 2UZ LC100 - Jap import. I have scoured all the threads to see if someone has dealt with this, but I haven’t landed on one with the same unit. It’s a VX Limited model, so has a fair few bells and whistles.
I want to replace the head unit purely for the audio connectivity side of things, but the problem I’m facing is that the factory unit also controls the air conditioning, and I’m pretty sure it has some settings in it with speed warnings and Navigation stuff. Have used Google translate to try and decipher as much as I can to work out what it does, but still not confident I have a full handle on it.
I don’t care so much about the gps/Nav side of things (google maps is fine for that) but I’m concerned about how I will control the air conditioning if I put an aftermarket audio only head unit in the vehicle. Pic is attached.
Does such a thing exist as an aftermarket replacement that will do audio and AC in one, or do I need to split the systems and find an alternative for the AC controls ?
Please forgive me if this unit has already been mentioned in another thread. Any advice appreciated.
