Yeah I don't think you really wheelI don't off-road ENOUGH. Florida is boring for offroading.
Yeah, bite me. You have no idea where I've been or what I do..Yeah I don't think you really wheel
Correct, but if youre not even hitting your rear bumper I can imagine not muchYeah, bite me. You have no idea where I've been or what I do..
Check my avatar. Front bumper is TT prototype and it is well used and abused. Same for the sliders. Rear bumper? I've not run a trail yet that I needed my tire up out of the way. I tow with the truck and need the hitch, I drag that before my tire comes close to anything.
Most rear bumpers are for show, so people have places to store the Roto-Pax and high-lift jacks they never use.
i actually had a good conversation yesterday with the guy at 4x4 Labs so I’m seriously considering the kit package. I know a good welder and it seems like a viable option for what I want. Dobinsons was my next option. Still looking though...I think the only good budget rear bumper options are the Dobinsons and 4x4 labs
I have long considered their kit option to be the best bang for buck - but I don't have welding skills. Keep us posted on the cost and quality of local weld job.i actually had a good conversation yesterday with the guy at 4x4 Labs so I’m seriously considering the kit package. Don't let him get under your skin, your irritation will only feed himYeah, bite me. You have no idea where I've been or what I do..
I don't disagree, vast majority of us, even the ones who wheel on mild trails, don't need a re-enforced rear bumper, but dammit if it isn't ultimate masculine jewelry!Correct, but if you're not even hitting your rear bumper I can imagine not much
No but if you trash talk someone because they want a cheap bumper I think it's reasonable to question their authority on the matterWhat’s the deal? If you do a solid axle swap you get to troll and be an a$$hole everyday on the forum?
Why did I have to click on this thread. Now I have to find a way to explain to the wife that I spent 2k on a new metal bumper to replace a perfectly functioning bumper that was already on the truck.
Depending on your purpose... Bought a rear bumper with swing arms to carry jerry cans, trasharoo, high lift jack, traction boards, ability of 2nd spare when needed, and of cause the look! All those could go on a roof rack (except cool look) at 1/3 of the cost but didn't want to put all that weight up there. This decision costed me about 2kWhat's everyone's opinions on a rear bumper vs. a Wilco hitch carrier? At $900ish it's tough to justify the Wilco

You may check the front side of the tire for rub against the cross support bar of the diff. It may rubAgreed... I really wanted a Slee...Do I need it?
I thought I had the justification as I didn't think my 17" Rock Warrior and Wildpeak AT would ride well up in the OEM spare tire position.
Blew that thought up...
