I realized my error on the site. Doesn't sound like that coolant leak was ever solved. Also, worries me that the vehicle has been ran hot. If coolant was needed daily the odds of it overheating in the past seems pretty high. So even for the fantastic price, you guys think I should keep looking?
Yeah, a definitely a pass for me. Looks like the PO decided to sell after the leak was found. Who knows how good they were about topping off the coolant and how hot it got in the mean time.

That Autotrader one is a unicorn! No AHC in an '07 (big plus in my book)! If you can chew them down a bit on the price and you don't mind the Gold color, could be a good find.

Yeah, I just noticed that. With the records that one has, and no AHC to worry about, I wouldn't let the mileage on that one scare me one bit. And there shouldn't be any rust.

Most non-car people outside of this forum would laugh at a used car dealer trying to get over $10K for a vehicle with over 200K miles, but we know better. Use that to your advantage - doubt people are knocking down their doors. Can't hurt to lowball them. Is this something you can drive to check out in person? Or is it a fly and drive?

Its 183 miles away. Looks good, except that is my least favorite LC color. How low of an offer would make the color acceptable? Also, I am aware that these miles are nothing for this vehicle, but I still think about things like how many times the windows have been rolled down with that many miles. And how many times the door locks have been actuated. Sure, the motor will run forever but how often am I going to be dealing with small problems like this on a vehicle with this many miles?

I bought a 3rd gen 4runner years ago that was in great shape with crazy low miles. I convinced myself I could live with the color - an odd blue with a hint of purple in some lights. While I love the truck and it's the reason I'm driving my LC now, I always regretted the color. Fortunately my daughter likes it. It's her college vehicle now. But if you have the time and patience, hold out.

Lol. I hear ya. I don’t like that color either. As a matter of fact I still had that vin in my garage on Toyota owners website from when I was shopping. I didn’t go look at it because I didn’t want that color! If it would have been any other color I would have probably made the drive.

The only reason I am in a hurry is because I have the itch. Really though, I have nothing but time. More time than money, actually.

Found this on facebook marketplace in Johnson City Tn.
Slee AHC controller, new 34" yoko destinations mts on 17 rock warrior wheels. He says no leaks, not burning oil, everything works well. 260k miles. He is asking $7000. Not sure if that includes the baja rack. He said he also has an Overland Pros Anza 1400 rooftop tent. I am assuming he would throw all this in for that price. This is about 2 hours away from me. Thoughts?

If you thought the 02 you drove was like your aunts Prius, this one on 34" tires isn't going to be any better.

Does the 2000 have VSC?

I believe the 2000 was the first year of vsc. I am assuming a regear will be necessary with those tires, but im hoping the last LX prius I drove was due to an issue with the vehicle. It had an abs and two vsc lights on.

Owner claims he didn't notice a power level decrease after installing the tires. He claims 15mpg still. I could buy this setup for $7k or less and get all the extras with it.

I am a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor and competitor, and will be using the cruiser to travel to tournaments and seminars, so highway comfort is a big deal to me. I also plan to use the cruiser for some overlanding with friends and my wife.

Looking at your original post you said you were concerned with hwy comfort. I can tell you if you go with that one you can likely throw that out the window without a regear. The entire reason I bought 2nd 100 was to get back towards a stock ride and feel for my commute. If you want all of those things that's great, but just know that you will definitely take a hit in the HWY comfort department. My last interstate trip to Utah from Ga I got about 9 MPG. I drove my LX to work this morning (30 miles) after driving the 06 for two weeks and it felt like i was driving a slug, and my 2000 is well tuned up.

You are right, I am concerned about highway comfort. I am just getting lured in by the accessories. I may offer him a ridiculously low price like $5k and see what he says. If I hate it on the highway I keep the accessories and sell the LX for a 2003+.

I think I pissed him off. He came back with an offer of $8k with all the accessories included. He claims its all brand new stuff. Lights, tires, wheels, roof rack, and tent. Claims LX is in fantastic shape. Might be a good deal for someone!

7k all in for everything including the tent and I think that's not a bad deal? You can prob talk him down.

I don't see the lights you're talking about though?

I wonder how long he has driven locked in Hi Ahc mode? Wouldn't that mess up the geometry and cause more wear if he just locked it in high like a permanent lift?

Does it rub with those tires on normal?

Now he says 33's. And yes, I'm sure that puts more stress on the axles and ahc system. He just installed the two lights. He now says $8500 for everything.
