Thanks and its in your price range;)

It is :)

My only hesitation is that this is going to be my DD with a 100+ mile commute (with 6000ft of elevation change and 50% curvy mountain roads) and
I'm not sure I want a lifted truck for that

The Land cruiser is equipped with AHC (automatic height control) The picture is in high mode(limited to 15MPH). The normal ride height is almost 2" lower and can drops another 1 1/2 from normal ride height to ease loading. It is also equipped with 4 way damping control to body roll.

PM me if you want to talk in more detail.

there is an LX somewhat local to me, 2005 with 57,000 miles.
it's outside Great Falls, MT.
online it's listed at $31,500, but a print ad came out with it at $29,500.

still looking....

I also commute about 100 miles/day and I have a Honda for that. If you look at the gas saving alone, it's worth it to have a gas-efficient daily driver. Not to mention the wear and tear. Good luck on the search. With that price range, I'd look for 03+, as 5-sp transmissions became standard from 2003.

The problem with a Honda or more common commuter is that for an average year I need 4wd for the commute for 4-6 months (10+ miles of dirt road some with an 18% grade and snow/ice)

Maybe a Subaru? :D

Good luck with the search.
