Man that is a tight fit. We ended up grinding the pads down just a bit to make them fit. There was no way they would have gone in any other way. Thanks for the parts cdan.

I plan on doing the same, once the time comes. What part of the pad did you grind and how did you grind it? Do you know of any rear pad and rotor improvement over the stock configuration? Have others out there had to grind the 100 pads to make em fit?

Not me. Went in like a dream... minus all the anti-squel shims that is.

phishtaco,

I'm about ready to do this brake job also, can you please provide me the part number for the 100 series pads and OEM rotors. Thanks.

I just called cdan and told him what I needed. It was less than $200 for the front stuff shipped to me.

I grinded the part that would touch the rotor, just a little bit with a grinder. Only the inside pads needed this, they outside ones went in fine. I did not install the antisqueak things either. Just didn't wanna beat the pad in with a hammer. I just inspected my rear pads and they were barely worn.

Just got mine today, oem rotors and 100 series pads. should be going on this weekend... thanks c-dan.

100 series pands went right on on mine. I have PO installed Midas rotor's witch are starting to warp already, they were fairly fresh when I boght the truck, Midas got them for $700! for the brake job oil change and something else minor, I'll have to look at the recipt again.

Why 100's pads and rotors, are they better than what we have now?

Think the pads are a little healthier.
Don't think the rotors fit, but I could be wrong.

If you order from C-Dan, you'd be safe...but...in case you don't, I think it should be clarified that:
- the 100 series pads are for the FRONT
- 80 series rotors, not 100 series rotors are what you'd use.

the 100 series pads are larger. some have found better braking; others use them because they last longer.

I dont want to grind them and I cant get them to fit....any ideas?????
new oem rotors
new 100 series pads

seems impossible to me to get a even cut with a grinder then you would end up with only part of the pad in contact.

Where are they not fitting? Is the caliper not opening enough?

My understanding is those that ground them did so at the edge not across the whole face, they should fit, but tightly without grinding at all, sounds like you do not have the calipers opened all the way.

I had no problem when I did mine a few weeks ago. You definately need to make sure you press the pistons in as far as they will go. It may sound stupid but make sure you take off the cap to the reservoir and watch the fluid. I ended up spilling out some. Well worth the effort.

Well I tried averything I could think of and its a no-go. The outside fits fine with room to spare, I even tried loosening the bolts that hold the rotor on to get space for the inside pads. It worked as far as getting them in but -completely- locked the rotor up.

are you sure your wheel bearings completley seated?
