wise move on steering clear of kennesaw. one of the ttora post was from myself back in the days i wasted my time over there, and you could ask concrete about his experience w/ the rear bumper he ordered for his trooper. neither were good.

That is what makes these boards so valuable... great people with great advice and experience.

So... you are looking for NTG's? I might be looking for something other than NTG's. Was going to just get a spare set of wheels/tires with more aggressive tread... but that poses problems... like wifey every time she looks at a stack of tires in the garage and me complaining about not having enough room for all my cruiser crap.

I don't know exactly how many miles are on mine... Andy may know. Think it's not that many 10k maybe. Might be willing to sell em to you.

Soccer is over but next weekend I'm heading to Richmond, weekend after that is Kristen's Divisional climbing championship (She came in first in Regionals) and if she makes it, Nationals are the following weekend in Ann Arbor. But, summer isn't over yet!

Another update, got the diff drop installed a couple nights ago. No pics... looks the same. Pretty easy install. couple beers and a couple hours. Probably would have been 30 minutes for someone who knew what they were doing and weren't drinking Guinness. Very little leakage on the drivers side, but nothing severe at all. Passenger side was clean. No more worries about that. Did see a post of another front diff explosion on the 100 board.

Bumpers haven't shipped yet but the winch should be in the driveway when I get home tonight. Anticipation!!!

(Unofficially) I'm planning on running up to Beasley in the AM on Sat Jun 2nd. I was waiting for Tisdale to post his plans for Sat evening before officially announcing. I already told him about the run up to Beasley and he won't make it, but I think it appropriate that those of us who wheel make a run for a few hours before settling in at the cabin. By my count we'll have enough passenger space to carry the non-cruiserheads. Dual purpose is to scout the trails for the Bash in Sept. Pack the tablet Dan.

Been quite a weekend. Had planned to go to Beasley (sounds like Carnage hill) but threw my back out earlier in the week, and then Linda scheduled a party at our house on Sat (or I would have been in Pumpkintown... really sorry I missed that). Friday I got the Slee order and got to work (slowly... my back is a hurtin).

Started with the pickup. Tight fit... slee rear w/ tire carrier, TJM T3 and winch mount

Started with the front...

The T3 comes with a chrome bull bar... I tried to install it... but just about puked... even in yuppie blingville Alpharetta, I just couldn't stomach it... so it's not going on. The T3 also accepts the stock fog lights, but the mounting brackets for the existing lights were shot so looks like I'll be going to Ralph Hayes for my first order.

Started working on the back... Andy... no wonder the rear bumper moved around a bit. I didn't unbolt much... pretty much just ripped it off. Felt pretty good actually! Easiest thing I did this weekend.

The cross member was in good shape though... a bit of wire brush, primer and paint and it's good as new.

Ran out of energy and light so that's as far as I could get... Had good intentions, but I started to lift up the slee... I think it weighs more than I do and getting Linda out of bed to help me just wasn't at option.

Not that it needs to be mentioned again but Slee's stuff is unbelievably stout, and extremely well thought out installation... both the sliders and the bumper. The difference between the TJM front and Slee's rear is night and day! I am very impressed!

Oh... can't leave out the new pup. 6 months, 52#'s of non-stop action. My daughter doesn't mind a bit!

Not sure I'll get much done this week, but looks like a good couple hours left and I'm set!

The girls have a "night out" on Friday... and I have beer!

Unfortunately during the week I'm going to be working pretty much non-stop. 4 weeks to year end with about 8 weeks of work to do.

As far as the front diff goes, I've never been as concerned with the possible failure as some owners. I never pushed that truck enough to warrant a breakage, or at least that's how I felt. Most of the failures I've read about or heard about involve snatching or towing in reverse which is something I never did...

There are a few of us that have either watched and/or broken the front diff in incredibly mild conditions on and off road. Just so you know...its not "if" but "when"...if you are even mildly wheelin' your 100 its cheaper and better to just put the ARB in before you don't have a choice...especially like some of the reported failures have involved paying for a tow.

Spressomon, that's what I keep reading. I will probably get it done before I do anything too wild. It's the "insurance" policy against something that may be a bit overblown... but also has enough smoke that there is probably a fire too. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I've read all the threads. Luckily I never experienced the failure in the times I had it out. I don't plan to wheel my current 100 so I am free and clear of the issue for the time being.

Yeah, that back bumper was my next move if I kept that truck. After a few Cullowhee and Tellico rides it sure took a pounding. That last service trip when we picked it up was when I had those guys booty fab a bolting scheme to at least tighten its position to get you home and until you made the change but it wasn't a long term solution. Glad I could assist in some way!

Good call on the T3 and leaving off the chrome. Winch looks great, can't wait to see the Slee rear. You're right, it is stout stuff. If your back is already on the fritz, be careful moving that stuff around!
