I am in the early stages of a 71 FJ40 1-ton build! I have most of my parts accumulated, but I still need a t-case. Going with a Dana 300, can you guys tell me which years/model 300 case I need to locate? Also what adapter do I use to make this case work with a 700R4? The other issue I have is the GM Dana60. I am going to narrow the long side 4.5", but what I really want to know, is what is the most correct way to set that thing up? Do I set the correct pinion angle-cut & turn the C's, and try and mill the RH spring pad? If I mill the pad, what exactly do I do about the offset bolt holes? Weld them shut and re-drill? Or do I use shims top and bottom? Is this truly a safe and proper way to do this? This will not be daily driven, but it will definitely be driven on the highway! Thanks ahead of time for any info guys!!J

You will get better answers in the "hardcore corner"

What? You want the easy way? Psssssssssssssssssha .. youre on your own dude:p.

Though it would be useful to crawl under a 80's model CJ7 and see what the dshafts are hooked up to. Then of course you could call Advance Adapters and see if the have a TH350 to Dana 300 kit. And then wander to offroad design and ask for shaft replacement for 700r4 used in their doubler. Or you could just cut off the amount needed from 700r4 shaft. Its been done and works well. I wouldnt mess with the meat on the housing for perches. Would just grind out the welds and old C's and knock them off. Then press on new crane C's at angle you need. Thats just me.

But Like I said earlier, youre on your own dude:p
