'06 LX CDL disengage clunk.....??

I have noticed a significant clunk in my wife's 2006 LX when disengaging the CDL. Only when disengaging. The CDL is only used when I engage it a few times a month. It did not make that clunk until recently. I have never heard that loud of a sound in any of my Lexii. Sound familiar? Plan on it disappearing if I continue to use it? Whatcha think?

Mine has done that if under load. I try and make sure the front wheels are pointed straight without a heavy load going forwards or backwards. I also try and be stationary and in neutral if possible. Less of a clunk that way for me.

If your tcase is bound or loaded up its not uncommon.

Tip - By putting it in Reverse, rolling back slowly, and push the button you will is most cases elliminate any clunk and will disengauge smoothly.
