Sorry if this has been covered before. Search function is not working for me.

The gold wheels on my pig gotta go. Anyone had any luck running wheels from a newer Sequoia on a 55? There is a nice set at my local junkyard. I hate to buy them and have them not fit. The bolt pattern matches up but am not too sure on backspacing etc. A quick google search tells me stock backspace on a 55 wheel is about 3.75". Anyone confirm either of these for me?

Those are the same wheels I found except mine are argent gray! They look pretty good on there. Wheel spacers work ok? What size tires are those?

IIRC, most later toyota rims/wheels had a 4 1/2" or 4 3/4" backspace, while the pig is 3 1/4". some 1-1 1/2" spacers would be perfect for a rig with 33" or smaller tires and not heavily wheeled, IMO, and keep the track width about stock. or for heavier duty applications, a set of factory width fj6X axles could run these wheels and forego the spacers and the overall track would be increased slightly. fzj80 axles would give one a 3" track width increase with these same wheels, but would not be able to run 15"s. I run Tacoma or Tundra wheels on my pig with 60 width fzj80 rear and stock pig front with 1 1/2" spacers. maxed on tire size and spacers and stock axles I'm sure, but it's held up to the abuse I've delt it. I might not want to run these rims without spacers or wider axles due to the narrower track width and the top heavy nature of our rigs...altho, I'm prolly being dramatic there...

I would imagine that although the wider stance might look cool, isn't it tough on the wheel bearings? I just had 1.5 inch spacer but took them off and put on a one that was a fraction of the size. I am hoping for better wear and tear.

Those rims look pretty cool!

yeah, they're beefy bearings...the biggest downside to spacers besides the 6 additional bolts, is the scrub radius. but that's not anything that factory didn't do down the road. if you can't live with the narrower track width, the 60 series axles are the best fix, and newer, bigger inside bits to boot. the spacers will be fine for 33s and light to moderate wheeling...things like shocks and shackle angles and caster angles and conservative use of power steering are what will affect the wear. these bearings are big enough to support things as long as they are adjusted right and all parts are servicible and within spec. agreed that I wouldn't be as comfy with 2" spacers as I am with 1 1/2"s. I do run them daily and on poor shackle angles, 96 miles round trip with a total of 8000 feet of elevation. I would also like to repete that 33s are the biggest tire I would consider with spacers for road use...I think there is alot to be said for stock height rigs and good ol fashioned good drivin. been giving thought to lowering the haff hawg and running 235/85/16s....is the rig in question a spring over, or stock spring under?

Did the OP go with the Sequoia?

Just perfect....I'll ask a question and someone will chastise me for not doing a search, but then we have this.
