Hard to know if this belongs more here or in diesel tech.

Here's a few pics of my addition of a Saab 9000 intercooler and Garrett turbo to my 13BT.

sorry, i did not mean to steal your surprise.
i am thinking that might be a much better way of dealing with the intercooler situation than the one i have here. i will be contacting the turbo guys and see if they can build me one along the same lines as the one you have.
i like the way yours fits and with an AC unit this is probably a much cleaner install.
cheers and congrates.

Did you move the radiator back, Bruce?

At first I was expecting to see large tanks at the ends but after looking for pics on the net I found this. Looks like a good fit.

Yeah, back about 2". Had to section that much out of the shroud to match and ended up with a hole where the factory indentation should be. If I'd measured better the hole would be smaller and right where the rad hose is. I actually rotated it down to give room for the intercooler pipe to cross over it and ended up with a nice fan inspection port.

The Saab corners don't seem to be the world's most efficient design but they sure are easy to work with. If they'll flow 250cfm @ 25psi I'll be happy.:D

SWEEEEET!! :D Go Bruce! (Or is this Peter posting under Bruce's account?) :D

I cannot fit a stock air cleaner they way it is set up now.

I'll be using a Donaldson cleaner.

If I used a 90 degree silicon fitting on the driver's (RHD) side intercooler inlet and made an aluminum 90, I could rotate the turbo a bit more and make more room.

I just picked up one of these. I was looking for a volvo but they were all pulled. Saab one looked good enough. Any tips Bruce? anything you would do different?

I sold that rig with the intercooler in it and haven't really thought about it much since. I needed 2" of body lift to make it work, I don't think there is any way around that since it hits the steering box at the bottom. I remember struggling to put it in a place that would allow me to swap from Right to left hand drive eventually. I think I decided it would have to shuffle an inch if/when that happened.
