Are you sure about that? I've just never heard that before. I know the 2L-TE uses the same filter as the 1HZ, but I didn't know a filter from a 3B would fit.
Good news if it's true.
Here's the Toyota part #: 90915-30002
There is a Donaldson filter that will fit, but my local Donaldson dealer quoted me $40, which is $5 more than Toyota wanted.

the 3B filters DO NOT fit on the 2LT(e)
I Have A 84 Bj60 With 3b Engine, A Year Ago I Bought An 85 Lj70 With 2l. PO Told Me That He's Using 3b Engine Oil Filter. So That's What I've Been Using Since It. I Haven't Have Any Problem Yet. Sorry If It's Wrong Info . Your Comments Is Appreciated.

Terrain Tamer from Australia sold by 4WheelAuto in Edmonton
Also with the same 24mm diameter thread x 1.5mm pitch from the 2C-T engine as used on Camry or Townace etc.:

WIX 51368 from Napa Auto parts locally
Napa Gold 1368
Mann W928/80
Hastings LF151
AC Delco PF30001
There are a number of JDM dealers in Vancouver area that now sell parts. (MaxOverdrive on #3 Rd)
