If you are going for a mostly stock rig, then you could buy their engine, but I wouldn't waist that much money on a 2f. Don't get me wrong, a 2f is a great engine! I have owned both a 350 cruiser and a 2f cruiser and it is a toss up (depends on what you want to do with your rig). Consider a...
I know it sounds funny. I sold a pair of 79 knuckles to CruisinGA and so I have an extra housing with extra knuckles-getting ready to spring over! Thanks for the reply! To those who worked hard on the "guide to a springover"- ! It could not have come at a better time!
Cut and turn knuckles-$60
Custom steering (High Steer arms)-$350+ (free if you make it yourself-safe?)
Drive shaft mods-$250
I have the rest already! All the work except cutting and turning the knuckles will be done by myself.
I have a four inch lift right now and the flex is ok, but the...
You can use the 205 t-case with a rear offset differential, but you need the parts from a np200 to convert the 205 to a rear offset pattern. Only problem I see is the gearing in the 205-depends what gearing you need/want.
Bailey,
This is why I was thinking of holding on to the knuckles on the 60 axle! I may take a chance and sell it anyway! Just need some of those longfields! Anybody else have a idea if this will work? Thanks!
I am doing a 6.2 conversion and a springover at the same time. Do you think that there would be a clearance issue with the oil pan and relocated steering arms/bar? Thanks!
One of the 8 bolts that holds the front hub, spindle, etc. assembly broke off in the knuckle housing. Is there a way to get it out? I have a fj60 front axle that I was holding on to just in case I needed to switch knuckles, but I have a guy interested in the axle. I would love to have some...
I've heard of guys mounting dual batteries in the back of their fj40s. I don't like this idea just because space is limited in the back of a 40! Just thought I would throw that out at ya!
I am just now acquiring my first winch. Until I become familiar with winching myself out of trouble, I would have to say no as well. I can't afford messing up my rig and don't want to be responsible for anyone elses rig either. Is there some info on winching anywhere on this site?
I have had really good results with the do-it-yourself kit (herculiner). Cheap, easy, and it lasts are three reasons why I bought it! I guess it looks good too :D! Just put the herculiner on thick in high "traffic" areas and you will be ok!
