    Land Cruiser Valuation

After a nearly 5 year love affair, we are starting to prepare ourselves to sell our 1998 Land Cruiser. Needs are changing, growing family etc. This won't likely happen for several months but I'm at a loss as to how to price/value our truck. I understand KBB and its all about what the market will...

    Flat towing questions

As some of you know, myself and others here have successfully been flat towing our 100's behind our coaches. I have a total of well over 40,000 miles of flat towing behind my tour bus without any issues at all. My family is growing and my specific needs are changing, so an AWD Sienna is on the...

    Krown Rustproofing

Posted a few years ago about this. Just had my second Krown treatment applied to my '98 LC. This stuff is very effective. A new Krown dealer opened up here in Michigan so I don't have to go to Canada anymore. For those who haven't heard of their process, basically they initially drill small...

Just scored an ARB bumper $400

Just made a Houston Craigslist score for a brand new ARB front bumper for my truck for $400. Now comes the hard part. I'm having a guy fab/weld it to my frame ends. It didn't come with a hardware kit. Any reason I shouldn't weld it? Is there a reason to bolt it on that would be better than...

Used my 100 to help three EMT's and a burn victim

Yesterday was driving in the 100 back to Katy from a day trip to San Antonio when we spotted an ambulance on the side of a lonely stretch of hwy and EMT's setting out hazard triangles. We pulled over and two of the three medics frantically begged us for a ride to the nearest fuel station. A...

    Boiling gas in tank

This happened last summer but I'm only now getting around to posting about it. Some of you know we flat tow our 100 all over the country behind my tour bus. Last year we towed all day through the mountains through high and low elevations finally reaching Gatlinburg TN. I unhooked the truck and...

Where to buy Bronze Mist Tint Glass?

My 100 was vandalized last night and the glass companies (Safelite) cannot find replacement glass to match (bronze) for my drivers side rear door glass. Obviously the green and the black privacy glass doesn't match at all. Can someone point me in the right direction here? Is this basically a...

Land Cruiser bailed me out of a situation

My family and I have been touring the country while flat towing our 100 series behind our. Some of you remember our first bus (the white one) which we sold this summer and bought a newer shell and converted it into a nicer coach. We have a nicer tow setup for this rig and we can say we've now...

    My 33" BFG's no lift :)

Should have done this long ago. FYI these tires are every bit as quiet on the HWY as my former road radials. Another vote for them to add to the many others I've seen here on MUD.

Finally found a 100 series in a salvage yard

Pulled the third row, and a center cap. Sad. I hated to see it like this. A doctor owned it. Hydroplaned and spun or around and did some major damage. Motor has just been rebuilt. An 80 series was on the other side of the Land Rover it was parked next to. So so sad. Why park it next to a Land...

    Possible Issue Flat Towing LC

I know a very small group of us are actually flat towing our LC behind motorhomes, but I thought I'd reach out to MUD for some help with an issue I can't quite figure out. We've flat towed our 100 for 15,000 miles now without any issues whatsoever. Recently though, I noticed that the power...

    Fuel tank capacity

I've done this four times now. Everyone on mud says the gas stations are ripping me off. Walmart, shell, marathon, and BP. I guess they all are ripping me off.

Diff lock indicator lighting up on acceleration

When I accelerate or hit bad enough bumps, the rear diff lock indicator lights up...sometimes the ABS light too. Is this a loose wire or am I getting low on rear diff oil? Would it do this if my diff oil was low? Here's a video of it happening:

Any tail light tinkerers need a free set?

I replaced my tail lamp housings a while back and have these floating around. I'll send them to anyone free if they want them...I opened the housings to de-Amber the turn signals so they are re-sealed with butyl and the seal is junk, but I know some of you experiment and could use a free set of...

    Modified 80 series

Saw this in our Dallas craigslist. I kinda like the concept but not sure about the execution. A removable top for my 100 series would be useful....not sure how much effort would be involved hacking the truck though:

    Suspension and RR List

The past 8 months I've put some $$ into our truck base lining it. Just clicked over 180k and had it in the shop this week for more love and wanted to know what other items to check? These items have just been done: 1. New ARB locking front diff & compressor (Slee installed 8 months ago 2. New...

    LED 9006 Headlights 3200 Lumen 80 watt

A short while ago, there was a group buy for some CREE LED headlight bulbs and I have never really seen much of a review response from those that purchased them. After spending a few months researching and waiting for a few iterations of the technology to develop and work out issues, I pulled...

    Mounting LED lightbar INSIDE windshield

Can this be done? I assume the LED's themselves don't give off heat towards the lens but rather to the rear via the heatsink? Does that heatsink get too hot to have inside the truck? Thinking of a curved LED lightbar mounted just below the headliner. Would have to move rearview mirror etc. Just...

    Window carriage broke

I am not sure what the part is officially called, but the plastic clips that grab the bottom of the drivers window thus allowing it to roll up and down, broke on me. My glass just fell out of the carriage slot and I can no longer roll the window up and down now without it going all kittywampus...

How many triple locked 100's here?

After blowing my front diff this past winter in Michigan, I just had SLEE install a new ring gear and an ARB air locker up front. I'm now triple locked and I was wondering how many 100's on here were triple locked and what the opinions are on a triple locked 100 versus an ATRAC equipped 100...
