OK, I have been reading on this topic for the entire time I have owned the '93 "Cruiser".
All of the components in the EGR system have been replaced and intake cleaned while achieving no corrective result. I have even replaced the ECM twice.
I have even had it to the dealer to have the code...
Well "OSO" has been doing so well I have had nothing to do for her but regular oil changes. (Well aside from the EGR code that will not clear and CBT and Toyota Tech say it should not be capable of throwing and the oil level switch that gets stuck sometimes.) Now it appears she had developed a...
I finally installed the OME lift on "OSO" and as part of the process I sourced a complete set of front and rear control arms/radius arms so I could have them cleaned/painted and rebushed and ready to go.
Now I have been looking at offering the ones I pulled to the group but I have considered...
Well, the saga seems to continue.
After a month of running really well "OSO" has returned to her bad ways.
While running errands today she ran fine for about 2 hours then stopped at a light, the idle dropped, it chases it up and down for a moment then stalled. Put it in neutral and it started...
Hey Y'all
Well, for 2 months "OSO" has been running better than at any time since we owned her. The major issue with stalling seemed to be resolved with the TPS replacement (after 4 months of replacing everything else), the new O2's relocated in the new custom '96/'93 cat-exhaust system...
That pretty much says it.
I have the new parts on the way for the new manifold to tail pipe exhaust for "OSO" but there is a wee little bit that will need to be fabricated.
I'm going with the '96 Y-Pipe and cat from Flowmaster up front and all new '93 stuff from the tail pipe forward but since...
The title pretty much says it.
Next project on "OSO" is the lift and all new bushings. Since I have to have it up and running in a day so the wife has her ride back I want to have a set of cleaned, painted and rebushed radius arms ready to go.
I know there is no way I can get the old arms...
I did a bunch of searches and reading and I have not been able to decern what the difference is between the P/N 89661-60220 and 89661-60221 ECM's.
It is looking like I may have isolated some of my driveability issues to the ECM and need to get a hold of another one and for the 1993/94 I keep...
Hey Y'all-
Yea, I have not been around here much but to read threads because the 'cruizer has been running well and I don't have any current projects planned for it while its "Saudi Hot" here. Just building the parts shelf for full bushing replacement, lift, and cooling system replacement when...
Hey Folks
Looking for a known good VAFM for my 1993 FZJ 80. Not yet willing to pay Mr. T full boat for a new one until I exhaust my alternatives.
Let me know what you got and what you want.
Thanks
OSO's wallet
Well I picked up the next "Square peg in the Round Hole" project.
Going to work out getting these Amp Power Steps from a 2009 Chevy 1500 crew to work under the 'cruiser.
AMP does not have a set for the '93 Land Cruiser but they say you can fit one of their "Universal" kits if you make all your...
I am building the parts shelf up for installation of the lift when I get OZO back from upholstery. I have the OME 850/860 lift and shocks I purchased from JP_Waltz, They look pretty good now after some love (I did post pics when I worked out how to get the boots off them). Just ordered all...
Well I have hinted to this in a couple of other threads but now I have enough shots to start teasing the final product.
This may be a direction not as common with 'cruiser owners that exploit the vehicles off road prowess but our 1993 FZJ80 was never meant to be our off-roader. We have a 1976...
Does anyone have a part number/source for replacing the connector on the VAFM?
It's marked 802 but the local dealer said that did not cross reference in their connector book. The VAFM is setting a air temp code and before I try and track down a replacement VAFM I want to see if the destroyed...
I did some searching on the best way to remove the plastic dust boots that now come on the OME shocks. I did not find anything that described how to remove them but I did find several posts looking for information on doing such.
Well my newly acquired lift came with OME NitroCharger Sport...
