So, I’ve looked through the threads and can’t find a definitive answer to what size and thread pitch for a plug or petcock for my CSF2708 radiator.
Does anyone know?
Tia
The 2708 is what I have. It is a direct fit in a 62.
Based on the dimensions of that 2709 I don't really see how that's going to work in a 6x, it's 5" wider and 1" taller. Must be for an 80 series. I think the application information is wrong on Summit for the 2709.
For a 6x this is the...
Just checked Rock Auto and 2708 is listed for the FJ60 but no radiators are listed for the FJ62. I have two 2708s in service, both in FJ60s with one 60 running a 2F and the other a 3FE. Even though RA has no radiator listings for a FJ62 (I only searched on the 1989 year) the 2708 should work...
Correct. CSF hasn't sold the FJ60-specific Radiator for quite a while, now. They list the 2708 Radiator for both FJ60 and FJ62.
The 2709 WILL NOT BOLT UP to your FJ60 - It's for a later FJ62. I don't know the difference.
Other than the various Aluminum Radiators, I don't think there are...
i cant find the 2708 (what year you got?)
only one i can find is a 2709...
will i still need to add external transmission oil cooler or secondary heat exchanger?
I specifically remember reading a thread here about a member who put a brand new one in his/her 62 and it had a defective trans cooler and ruined the trans with contaminated coolant. CSF told them to pound sand after what seemed like quite the runaround. From that point on I said I’d never buy...
I bought a CSF2708 radiator and noticed a few issues. First the fan shroud bolts don’t match up exactly in the first photos you can see the driver side. The bottom hole is correct but the one above it is two inches too low while the top hole is 2 inches two high. The passenger side fits fine...
...the WRONG part number no matter what literally every website will tell you including the CSF catalog. The part that actually fits is in fact CSF2708. So I reach out to the vendor (Lethal Performance); and because I got free shipping, had to pay $56.00 to ship it back to their warehouse. I...
*edit* ... I installed that part number in my 62... but I see why you're asking this question. I can't see any site that currently lists that part number for the 62. Perhaps if you called someone that had it in stock and could visually verify there is a transmission cooler, then you should be...
According to the CSF website, 2708 and 2709 are still being made. Website says 2708 is 4-core. 2709 is a 3-core. I'd certainly want a 4-core.

...now?
Which Radiator? Based on reading on MUD I don’t know if there is a ONE best option for the radiator. At this point I am planning on the CSF2708 from Rock Auto which seems to have the best price at $347. Please convince me if there is an obvious better option.
I ordered the Dorman 49450...
...of my radiator was wet from some small pinhole leaks, so ended up getting a Mishimoto rad from Amazon after reading horror stories about the CSF2708 mixing coolant and ATF, shipping issues / damage, etc.
I wish I could wait for a Ron Davis but I need to get this back on the road...
I'm running the CSF unit in my 60, 2708 I believe. I plugged the trans cooler ports for the 62 and it's been great. no issues in 5 years I've been running it.
