ok everyone we are trying to nail down a head... errr stomach count for the thursday taco meal... besides the CLCC it is also our brothers over at Bay to Blue Ridge Cruisers will be joining us too.... So it is possibly going to be nigh around 30 people so we want to make sure we have enough for everyone to at least get a taste!

so who is in for Grilled Steak and Chicken Elote Tacos ????

I'd love to get in on this. It gets a little busy sometimes to make food while doing the hosting duties.

Thursday Night Taco Night

ok everyone we are trying to nail down a head... errr stomach count for the thursday taco meal... besides the CLCC it is also our brothers over at Bay to Blue Ridge Cruisers will be joining us too.... So it is possibly going to be nigh around 30 people so we want to make sure we have enough for everyone to at least get a taste!

OK... thanks to @CrabCake with the hookup we are set for the protein... several pounds of flank steak... and we should be good to go!! I just really hope it turns out as good as I am hoping.
One the menu for Thursday night is:
Tacos w/ Street corn and black beans...
Crab cake sliders...
chips salsa...
and it is BYOB....
we will have paper plates and napkins as well.

Just a reminder, we will have a good amount of food but this isn't a full sit-down dinner thing it is a heavy Hors d'oeuvres meet and greet type event! There should be enough for everyone but lets remember our manners LOL !

We plan on setting up the CLCC and BTR camp up on the lower area to the side of the bath house area where we have pitched our tents for the past few events.

MD/VA Caravan post

Please let us know if there are any changes or if anyone is joining ....

So here is the Wednesday Caravan plan that a lot of us have talked about…
My hopeful goal is to get there between 4:00pm and 5:00pm…ish. So we can setup before its dark and relax after a long drive down.

Wednesday 24/04/17
Meeting Location: Southern States gas station at 13655 Beverly Ford Rd Elkwood VA 22718
Departure Time: 10:00 AM That means LEAVING the Station then NOT ARRIVING THEN!

This is a nice big place where we can all fuel up our tanks and park off to the side. The station has nice clean bathrooms and a good store for any snacks / food / drinks for the road.

Along the route we will be swinging through a little station called Shady’s Place at 151819 Thomas Nelson Hwy, Lovingston VA 22949 to have @davidp14 join the group. It is a small station with 2 pumps right off the road and a small store as well.

Somewhere along the route we will find lunch and of course fuel once or twice… I figure an hour or so of stops along the way.

I would recommend that we should all top off before getting to the campsite as the only local place for fuel is the Eldorado Outpost around the corner but it is a 4 pumper and the only game in town so it can get busy! They do have a good size camp store and ice as well as hot food which isn’t bad but again it's the only game around so it isn’t the cheapest either.

Everyone will end up there though since you have to buy your Trail Passes there. So I would suggest that we swing in there BEFORE going to the campground for a final top off and ice run if you need it and get our passes so there isn't an evening trip or a rush in the morning.

My plans continue to change so it now looks like I'll be joining the caravan on Wednesday. I'm still hoping to find someone to share driving with Matt in his 80 so I can take my BJ74 which is also my home away from home.

Bummed I can't make it this year fellas. Have to travel to TX next week for work.

This is one of my favorite events! Weather will be nice this time of year.

Good people, food, trails, entertainment and lots of awesome Toyota trucks.

That's a good forecast, especially no rain on the trail days. When these trails get wet, it's a whole different experience!
