Want to Solo stove it with a couple or have a fire in the ring down there?

Well I will have my small ranger and I am pretty sure that @davidp14 is bringing his so we will have two we can gather around.... While they won't be a huge bonfire they are easy to contain and gather about

I am learning from all hundy and Lexus owners! I am just a poor old guy with a 40... gotta rub some stones together to get a spark and forage for wood in the forest

I won the no-match fire starting competition in the scouts two years in a row.

Now I use gas and a lighter on store bought wood.

The problem with solo stoves is you need to stand to watch the fire.

Solo stoves are meant for back yards on the deck! Not in the woods!

i disagree... they can be great for the woods... no fire ring needed... no scorched earth left behind... clean burn with nothing left over.. hot coals are contained so no worries about issues when you hit the cot... there are some good upsides to them.

are they the nice traditional camp tv?.... no but they have their upsides.

from northern VA the trip down on rt 29 is supposedly only 10-12 min more than I95/85, and 29 is a lot nicer than the interstate(s). that would be my preffered route. open to meeting up with folks along the way.
