My Dad just gave me his 1985 FJ60. 107,009 miles got new springs, carpet, tires and various other stuff to get it freshened up. Other than that totally stock. Still have the window sales tag for it. Should I keep the phone…..doesn’t work. Kinda blast from the past.

Upgrade it to a tin can on a string.

Or save it for that Fred Flintstone car you always wanted to build ...

haven't seen one of those still mounted in a few years
that was state of the art back in 1990
be almost as much fun watching a teenager try to make a call on that guy versus using a rotary dial phone

any one else remember bag phones?

There are some folks on github that have made Bluetooth adapter boxes to run those to their cell phones so you can still use them on a 4/5g network. Pretty cool but kind of a waste

Yup definately keep it! It's part of its history. I've never even seen one in real life before.
If you can make it so it work somehow even better.

Wow! Original mint condition - put it back in the box! That phone is a unicorn, never ever take
It out. You’re a lucky person. Nice rig.

My Dad gave me his 1987. She looks fantastic! Get her a OME suspension and 33's and you got the perfect rig!

What’s a car phone?

Strange, i believe it should have a iPad on the dashboard not that weird brick thing…
