Thanks. Is there much to explore going to the Corrizo Stage Station from the east vs. in from S2?

Frank

If you exit fish creek as if you're headed to the blm land/railroad where people shoot, you can follow that railroad south to the Trestle Bridge. From there you can cut in the wash towards Corrizo station. Theres some fun terrain going in that way, including some deep sand. It's been years since i've been that way though, and some of the maps suggest the area is closed.

The link below shows Anza Borrego hikes, but it too shows that area as closed.

Somewhere along that path exists the infamous Moon Dust.

On the departure plan. The "Fallbrook Contingent" will be heading straight to Fish Creek camp. Who still wants to meet at the North County Fair Mall? It's not that far to Anza Borrego so if folks want to just make their way to the camp site at their leisure that works just fine. I will be swinging by a friend's house off of 78 in Ramona on the way to caravan out there.

Also, my friend in Ramona has loads of wood if anyone needs any.

If no one posts up to meet at the mall I will head straight out to camp.

Frank

Loading up. Unless I hear otherwise I'll see you all at camp.

Frank

Where did you guys end up?

Is it cut or we would need to cut it?? Free for all to come get some??

Well we had trip of it with 6 trucks in total. When the Fallbrook Contingent arrived first they found Fish Creek full so we decided to head over to the BLM land / shooting area and disperse camp there. We only had a little rain over night but amazing weather during the day. I really like this area, it's fun to shoot and there is much to explore. It was nice to have a slower paced trip. It would be fun to get back here before it gets too hot.

PSA: Tim's dog Ripley ran off Saturday and despite us taking turns making trip after trip in every direction over all three days we could not find him and he did not come back to camp. Ripley is a little red cattle dog so if anyone heads out that way please keep an eye and grab him if you see him. He is chipped and tagged.

Day one we had the bulk of the group. Despite lots of ominous clouds we didn't get any rain all day.

After setting up we did a few hours of target shooting while everyone was here. Around 3:30 we packed up since the forecast was calling for rain in the area. Thereafter we took turns at camp and exploring / searching. My buddy in his Raptor found a cool trail up to a mine...

Daniel decided shirts were for mere mortals like the rest of us in jackets...

The next morning most of the group departed after breakfast.

We fanned out to wheel and search. After that we did some more target shooting. Below is Brennan asking for help putting on his ear protection. I have to tell you, the kids were naturals shooting clays!

This was Garrett's first time and he good with the 22. Once the younger kids peeled of to dig holes, Daniel and I got to shoot for a while had a nice time bonding.

We had the smaller group for the second night.

33.040281878283864, -116.08925730330192 is approximate. We were about a mile or so down along the BLM shooting area.

These two pictures should give a good idea... You can see the ridge in Google maps in the background of this picture.
