My exhaust shields between the underside and the exhaust are shot. The first one above the cat isn't bad but the other 2 over the muffler are rusted out. What did you do about yours? reman? I just took some scrap metal and made a make shift insulater. I Took the insulation material out of the old one and sandwiched between two pieces of sheet metal, welded together and screwed it up in there with sheet metal screws. the old 10mm screws rung off while removing the old insulator.

I have a stash of stainless sheet metal hiding away to do just this thing come warmer weather...

I pulled sheet metal off and old grill. It had stainless sheet but I didn't use it because my welder isn't set up for it. I should just use it and screw it together with small sheet metal screws.

FYI - the white/grey fiber material sandwiched between the sheet metal in the two heat shields above the muffler is asbestos.
