A chaotic first day with my new to me LX470
Drove from Fort Worth to pick it up in Austin. Previous owner had last replaced the tires in 2018, but they installed tires from 2015, so the tires on it were bald and dry rotted to hell. I bought a...
I've had 2 or 3 sets of Yokohama Geolander tires over the years. I swapped to BFG's, but I'm thinking about going back for my next set, They were always great tires, quieter and BFG's, and better in the rain.
Put my second set of tires on this past week since owning. These were at a great price but I found very little feedback from anyone who has tried them. Specs seem to be pretty good. They are definitely one of the more aggressive A/T tires I have...
The Old Man Emu offerings (UCA00010) are much newer than this thread, they only started offering them for the 100/470 in late 2023 if my memory serves me. We have sold and installed dozens of sets of them @ Cruiser Outfitters, we keep them on the...
Bittersweet day. Traded my 100 series for a 200 series. After many years of faithful service it was time to upgrade. 316,974 miles on the clock. I’ll miss the old girl😢
After a long summer for my 99 LC, I figured it deserved a short photo dump lol. We drove from DFW to close to Monterrey, MX where it spent the next 6 weeks with my family. Door-door, was just shy of 1800 miles. My wife/daughter used the LC in...
Finally got the new hood swapped over after getting it blasted and painted, went with the cascadia solar panel as a blackout/battery tender. New moldings, bumpers, wiper plumbing, etc. Very happy with the switch to a mist type nozzle vs. the oem...
Obligatory Imogene pics from Sunday. LC performed up to my expectations, except for transmission temps reaching 230F (even in 4Lo manual mode). For those wondering, Imogene is open from the Ouray side and closed on the Telluride side.
Yes, the stupid little 250 tank can’t bridge the fuel stops of the Dalton. It’s always like 2 or 3 gallons short. And in general on this trip feeding the 250 has dictated all stops not our bladders. It’s always just short of our destination and...
Well we were thinking selling my wife's 2004 LX470 (posted on this forum), just did the 100,000 service all maintenance required, had a master mechanic do it with me supplying all the OEM Lexus parts. Expensive-ouch, decided it was time to get...
This is the best deal I found on a 200. It does seem the LX570s are going for less $ than the LCs. This one's at Stonecrest Toyota just east of Atlanta. If you do call or go see it, ask for Chelsea. She seemed like a great sales person. It's a...
We have a 2016 200 in addition to our 100s. It's a great daily driver/road trip machine but IMHO doesn't have the same feel/"soul" of a 100, and it feels wider on the trails. The traction control systems are insane, but it's LOADED with sensors...
That's normal 5 tires rotation. Advantage is you go longer between buying tires, disadvantage is you have to buy 5 tires.
Personally, I would wait until you're buying new tires and then start the rotation of your new spare, 20k is maybe halfway...
Well, this is Sasquatch aka "Sassy":
She is the first vehicle I have loved enough to name, and that was a complicated process of negotiation amongst my wife and 6yo daughter, and several of our friends. Text threads got quite long, and other...
