The opposite. Here is another picture with both in the same orientation. Looking from top down, and engine is at the bottom of the picture. Selkirk crossmember centers the engine, moving it towards the US Passenger side.

Back from vacation, catching up. @FlyinFaded Toss the Selkirk cross member, unless you are using their mounts as well. Don't mix and match parts from different vendors. Toyota offsets the 1FZ-FE to one side, as you should do with a LS engine...

The dual cardian drive shafts make the pivot point closer to the transmission pan and is also bigger around than the drive shafts itself.

You can remove it entirely, from the firewall to the engine. Replace with Gates 5/8" Green Stripe Hose, or another top brand.

Do as George said. You can't use the original hose since you bypassed the rear heater. There is Toyota hose, which has a number of different bends that can be cut and used. I don't have the part number off hand. @LandCruiserPhil sells a kit...

No. Don't start it. Just bend the hose to see if the split opens up.

You need to take a better picture of the passenger side of engine between the intake pipe and the firewall.

He might have the rear heater bypassed. Normally, there is a T from the rear heater and the main heater, which then has a hose to the engine, as seen in the above picture. Here is a nice coolant diagram from this post
