It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The Stout is as good as it was 5 years ago. Im Still using it like I built it to be used all through 2024. I renewed the plates for 5 more years, took many trips to the hardware store, used it to...
Finally after over two years of owning the Stout and over a year since beginning the swap it is done! Over the course of a few more months I sourced some swampers for the 40 series wheels as well hubcaps. Installed sound dampening, carpet and...
I did too until you said that Jim. I thought the skid plate looked like steel instead of that nice aluminum one you sell. Probably need to get my eyes checked although it still seems like a good price.
Msapers,
Tank is still available. It has been stored for 30+ years, road under my truck moving from CA to NY but always had duct tape over the openings for FME. Never had any liquid in it. Comes with skid plate, pump, fill nozzle and neck...
I did some metal ones to mimic the rare JDM-spec ones, but I shifted them up onto the side of the tub vs extending downward. They're bolt-on/removable, they just attach to the inner lip. Fairly simple design...could make it as wide as you...
Took it out to enjoy my latest time suck. Went to a trail I haven’t ridden in years. The cows had chewed the trail up back in the day that we stopped riding it. They’re still there, but seem to be a little gentler this time around.
Got things buttoned up with the rack. The feet were rusty, so I stripped and painted the steel but cleaned up the galvanized part and installed new hardware. I am really happy with it.
@Texican the decals are also applied on two corners like the...
I bought a set of Coker NDTs probably 20 years ago. I’ve had the trailer out in the elements the whole time; no cracking or checking.
Was thinking of buying a spare and I think they have doubled in price. I think I only paid about $100 each...
Looking great Lash!
If you ever want another 750-16 radial BFG makes in a KM3
They are about 31.5x8 on a 16-5 Cruiser wheel
Rear tires on trailer are 700-15 bias by comparison
All wheels are mounted with extended lug nuts and they handle noticeably better. I’m thrilled with the look. In fact they’re so much smoother running now I can really feel a driveline vibration above 2k rpm’s in all gears!
Also had my dad help...
This will be the build thread/documentation (not sure how I get the “Builds” tag) for my new-to-me 1976 FJ40 named Otis. The truck was named by the previous to the previous owner, and it fits so the name happily will stay. I bought Otis from...
Been raining A LOT here. The hill country is a lot worse, tragic what is happening with the floods.
I planned to build a new grill table this weekend, but with the rain and humidity, the stain is taking forever to dry. I am not going to even try...
Went to the Tatacoa Desert 🏜️ 🌵. We drove way back inside the desert until we saw no other cars or people. Such a surreal experience. We found an interesting Ecohotel and spent two nights watching the stars at night and exploring the landscapes...
Picked up more body parts this morning. Had a minor issue to be addressed post paint for the tub so will be a few days before I can pick it up. Happy with how the raptor liner turned out on the tranny & gas tank cover (also on underside of...
