Too Much Grease in Drive Shaft?

Yes, the noise is gone, I just hope no permanent damage was done. I just drove it again and to be sure I pulled the zerk a second time, another spurt of grease came out.. I drove it around the neighborhood a second time with the zerk off, goving over curbs and flexing things.. More grease came...

Too Much Grease in Drive Shaft?

I notices the thunk recently which brought me to this thread. Today I greased the driveshaft. The front shaft expanded and grease came out between the slip joint. I then proceeded to the rear. After a few pumps I noticed the shaft move a little, then pumping more I expected to see grease come...

    The OFFICIAL clunk/thunk driveshaft thread

Dont put too much grease in the rear shaft zerk, I pumped a bunch in there expecting it to come out of the shaft but none came, it just forced the shaft to expand into the tc and rear diff. I drove it around the neighborhood and it had a really bad gear whine, I quickly took off that zerk and...

2nd battery install with inverter and dual outlets

The 400w is fine for charging batteries etc for my electronic devices. If I wanted to run power tools or a hair dryer then no. The reason I chose this one is its a True Sine Wave inverter not a Modified sine wave.. The latter can damage sensitive electronics.

    Beloved 80 carnage

I always tell people that driving an 80, even with terrible gas mileage is cheap life insurance. A Prius would not have done well against a Tundra!

    roof rack recommendation - 94' 80 series

Installed a home made wind faring on the front of the Gamiviti rack, first I flipped it over and used the Yakima A1 towers after some mods. Ordered a sheet of ABS plastic online and cut to shape, attached with zipties.. It came out pretty good and dramatically cut the wind noise, I can...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

The wrap is on the outside, that is why you want the laminated type so dirt doesnt get in the little holes. Here is the link to my drawer system complete with plans. https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/209816-new-cargo-drawers-my-first-mod.html

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

I got the white as it reflects more heat, the black would attract the heat and not be as cool.. would look funny on a darker car though with the white.. The black would still reduce the heat but I bet the window itself would get really hot. The inside of the vinyl is actually black so when you...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

I found the film at Fast Signs, it is a perforated vinyl laminated with another clear plastic. You can see right through it on the inside but very difficult to see into the back.. It block 90% of the light along with the factory tint. The fridge will run much cooler and more efficient using...

    Charcoal Canister - Great Option!

Got mine in the mail yesterday and installed it today along with some new hoses.. Went in super easy and just used zip ties on both clamps, be careful as if you pull too hard it will crush the plastic canister. No more tank pressure!
