Are you running the correct battery? Group 27F is the correct style and has the positive on the back left side. If someone used a Group 27 it would be opposite and positive would be in the front left (I think the early FJ80's were this way).
Fan clutches is easy to check. Go out for a drive where you know it will run hot. When you see the temp rise, pull over. Shut the engine off and check the fan for resistance. There should be a significant amount of resistance and if not it’s...
Exactly right. Picture without gasket installed. You can see the lips/ridges where the valve cover bolts live. The bolts are on the outside of the gasket and the lips/ridges allow the cover to bottom out onto the head with appropriate pressure...
I pulled the glass on a Land Cruiser headlight but haven't gotten around to installing it on the broken headlight. Here is some info on how to remove the glass. Be sure to use plastic tools to pry the glass off. I've done a couple Depos and...
Anyway. It’s solid now and no rust, and coated. Sounds like an anvil when hit with hammer.
By far the most difficult piece was the wheelwell extension down from deck. it was a neat spiral form that took forever to curve properly and then a lot...
Everyone has their own process but for those that haven't done it before here's one method for installing these studs, FWIW.
Before installing new studs it helps to super clean (old/dirty) threads, run a thread cleaning tap down the hole, clean...
The wheels are newer than 1990. Let's see a picture of the engine. Its either an older 3f or a slightly newer 1FZ. That impacts the sale price. I'd spend at least a couple hundred dollars on it to figure out what is wrong with it. Parting a...
Problem found and it had nothing to do with the steering. The vehicle has factory electric lockers. The front diff was actually showing Unlocked but remained in the locked position. I took the drive motor off, moved the rack to the right and...
Sounds like the steering gear was never disassembled. I'd separate the drag link from the pitman arm to isolate the problem to either the steering gear or the front axle.
I ran the 100 pads for a while. I eventually got some annoying vibration from the front brakes. I replaced the rotors and pads (Yellowstuff) and the vibration was gone. After the work, I was looking at the used 100 pads and saw a decent lip...
I ended up swapping to Delta 5L and it got me to +3 castor from 0 (with 3L)... So still not perfect but drives better. I think 2 more degrees would feel better. but i cant afford to keep swapping arms lol.
No… they will be going away for something better… but still Toyota/aisin made
Super close to having @efjayatee 93 done. A bit of testing then it will be available. Will be more expensive due to electronics
Thought hard about water to air. End...
Is the water for the intercooler part of the engine cooling system, or a completely separate system? It seems like engine coolant would be too hot to be useful.
Got it fixed. Just unscrewed the handle from the inside and then carefully popped off that panel. The trigger had just gotten disconnected so all I had to do was pop it back in. Thanks again for your help!
