And to bring it full circle.....the rocker stand bolts do not need sealant. I guess someone had removed the rocker stand bolts before me. The bolt holes are not open to any water passages.

If the factory manual didn't say to then don't., my thought. You probably will be pulling the head again anyway when the great new compression you have will cause blow by. :meh:
Ive thought about LS swapping it .....but creep will not take a hold of me just yet.
Just need to know if bolt sealant is necessary. The FSM does not say, but mine appear to have been sealed.

Have you talked or thought about pulling the pistons and running a glaze buster hone down each cylinder. new rings and I'd even put some new rod bearings in there, too. Not too much more time or money.
