Those are designed to keep debris/thrown rocks from tires/ and brush from hitting shock shafts. They are not skid plates meant to be dragged across rocks.
Once the filter is inserted on the stand, so long has nothing has fallen out, it doesn’t matter if the stand is loose or not. It’s not going anywhere….
Good thread. What you left out, and I know you recognize this, is the thermal expansion rates of different materials. The 'metal' oil filter cap is aluminum and I believe the housing is steel? They expand at different rates and on critical joints...

Contact Eric Sargent to inquire - he sold a bunch of 200’s that were modified by 4WP (this one has the typical stuff he was pushing). Bet this one has an electrical gremlin that eats batteries.
A belt and pump every 90k is a TINY price to pay IMO for something thats “bullet proof” when you should be doing coolant anyway.
Also, idk what others may say, but as an owner or both, i enjoyed the 100 more.
