Met with Pees last night at PMC meeting and discussed the tasks assigned to us... Our stuff is tight!

We are expecting an excellent kids raffle thanks to John and Ken H... the best yet.
The gold panning is all set with a gold nugget going to one of the kid participants.
After years of messing up the horseshoe tourny, I believe this year will be the best organized yet. (learned from my mistakes)

Woo Hoo! lets go!

How do i sign my kids up for the panning? Do i need to buy raffle tickets for then too?

No need to sign up, Tony & I will have pans, a mini sluice, and a separator to show people how the basics work, participants(kids) will get a chance to learn how to pan with BB's, see whats involved with collecting material, put some dirt thru a sluice and who knows. Each kid that participates ( shows up ) will get a special raffle ticket, at the dinner & raffle Tony will hold a separate raffle for those that came to DD to pan/sluice and the winner gets a nugget from Tony. Just make your way to Dirty Dozen on Friday, times will be posted at the bar/ check in booth. We look forward to it. These raffle tickets are separate from all else and specific to the participants in hopes of creating a bit of a special deal for kids and the great part is it requires action/participation to get the ticket vs. buying them, hands on, family bonding time.

Thank you Tony and John. I truly appreciate it .

Gold Panning will be a Friday activity (sorry for those on Friday runs who will miss this activity) from 10 AM to noon. Kids and adults are welcome to attend and learn how to pan for gold. As gold is very limited in the area, we will use BBs to mimic heavy gold pieces. Only children will have a shot at the gold for participating with the drawing before or after dinner on Saturday. The gold = picture a large 'flake' you can pick up with you fingers.

Horseshoes will be a Saturday activity starting at 11 AM with picking teams and reviewing the rules for this double elimination tournament. Games are timed at 20 minutes each (to keep things moving along) with 5 minute breaks between to find your partner and be ready. There is an entry fee with sign ups open at the registration booth right up the when we draw teams. Always a great time to play or just watch!

and of course, these times are flexible depending upon ...

If you can not make Friday panning and you want to try a pan or use the sluice you are welcome, come on down to DD and find me, usually in the swim hole.

Another Post-Rubicon Inquiry:

I mentioned this before and know it was a little early for solid answers but.... @jonheld and I we considering running Fordyce after the Rubicon and we heard there might be a group headed that way (water/weather etc pending).
So.... is there someone planning that that we can hook up with to discuss?

I wanted to, but won't be able to this year.
