2011 LC200 Bump Steer/Tail Wiggle Issue FIXED (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, just recently picked up my first 200. Have been in land cruisers my whole life but man oh man is this an upgrade in ride quality. Can't wait to build her out and experience more of what it has to offer...

Anyways, The truck is riding on king coils and shocks at the moment about 2.5-3" of lift with total chaos upper control arms, 35" tires and 1.25 spidertrax wheel spacers. This is how the truck was built out when I bought it.

Noticed at highway speeds going over large bumps I am getting some Gnarly bump steer that throws the truck around like it doesn't know which way is straight. Truck has a slight pull to the left so I plan on getting it aligned next week when I have some free time.

Outside of the alignment getting squared away has anyone experienced this in their 200 and found a remedy??
Going to lift the front end up and check tie rods, steering rack bushings and any other steering components for play this evening when I get home from work.

Any help on this matter if someone else has experienced this and found a remedy would be greatly appreciated!

You'll want to take a look over here:

An adjustable panhard bar doesn't get the geometry back to a horizontal bar; it simply relocates the axle to account for the more extreme angle of the panhard bar after installing a lift. This video does a good job of showing the desire for drop brackets, as they allow for the panhard bar to be horizontal and minimize lateral movement of the axle after lifting the truck.

You could be experiencing the rear end waggle if panhard bracket is still stock. Installing the @eimkeith panhard correction bracket makes a huge difference. It certainly did on my rig.

DesmoPilot is right, the @eimkeith bracket definitely helps rear end stability on a lifted 200.

As for the front, you might consider different outer tie rod ends from Ekstrom Design. Coachbuilder OE Replacement Steering Kit, Tundra 2007-2021 Including TRD PRO - https://shop-coachbuilder.myshopify.com/collections/steering-upgrade-kits/products/coachbuilder-oe-replacement-steering-kit

The geometry of his OTRE's reduces bump steer.

My truck is Tundra-swapped and he made a set just for this oddball application (thanks to Nwfl4runner). If you know exactly how long they need to be, David Ekstrom could probably whip up some for the 200 Series. David answers his emails quickly: ekstrom_design@yahoo.com

Loving all this information from y’all. Going to take a gander under the rig tomorrow and report back. Now that y’all mention the tail end waggle is a great way to describe what is going on.
This forum never ceases to amaze me with all of the knowledge and quick help. I’ll try and write a detailed write up with pictures of my findings. I’m confident y’all hit the nail on the head though with the panhard.

Just wanted to follow up on getting the bump steer/tail end wobble resolved. Ordered the Panhard bar relocation bracket from @eimkeith, got it within 3 days of ordering. Welded it in this past weekend and tail wobble on large bumps is COMPLETELY GONE.
Truck drives fantastic and tracks dead straight over bumps big and small.

Wanted to say thanks to the guys referring me to @eimkeith.

If anyone with a lifted 200 is wondering if it is worth it or not, this is a CLEAR no brainer upgrade that makes driving the truck so much better over high speed bumps.
