Two days short of 6 months on the dot and the suspension is finally on. Front coilovers showed up this past Friday which was the last piece I was waiting on

King 2.5 w/ adjusters (valved by Filthy)
Dobinsons C59-559V rear coils
SPC UCA's
Slee Spidertrax 1.25" spacers
Dobinsons panhard bar
275/70R18 Ridge Grapplers (will need to lightly heat gun fender liners due to slight rub at full lock)

I dig it! So what valving did you end up going with? Are you going to move up in tire size in the future or are you content with the 33's? I am surprised that I like how they look with the lift versus moving up to a 34. I run the same size tires now with only the front OEM 10mm spacer and I like them a lot in regards to fuel economy and power.

I'm actually not entirely sure what he calls the valving it has since Ben never said outright which one. Given what I told him as far as weight I would assume its either one step below their heavy "Overland HD" valving or one step above their OEM valving. That does remind me to add it to my questions once I send him my 1K mile check in email.

I am relatively content with the tire sizes, but I may go wider to a 285/70 on my next set. I thought about the 295/70 but at that point it starts looking like a lot of tire for the amount of lift. I made that mistake on my 4Runner where I ended up going one size larger on tires than I probably should have and I thought it took away from how I preferred it to look and then gave me a much larger headache as far as rubbing.

Death Valley from a month ago. Had the pleasure of getting a flat when I was away from the group scoping out a trail. Was just within radio range, but was still intense as we were racing the sun to camp. Ended up taking about 30 minutes or so. Really need to upgrade from the bottle jack. After two tire swaps this year I am swearing off that little thing.

Pro Eagle is what you seek.
Yeah, I cant decide if thats all marketing gimmick or what. Plus a floor jack takes up quite a bit of space. Fine when I'm solo but would be hard when I'm packed to the brim with the family.

Dang, 2x tires? Been out there and some places can be really remote. Good save.

I have yet to experience a flat out in the field. Not if but when and I hope I'm prepared. Do you have any of the accessories that make the bottle jack safer/easier to use? Jack adapter and base? Do you think that would enough to make the bottle jack more viable?

Wow 2 flats, sorry to hear. Does this change your choice of tires going forward? I think i'd swear off whatever brand tire i was running if this happenes to me. Curious to know the PSI, aired down? Are those E KO2s?

No gimmick, they are legit. They are sizable, that's their only drawback besides price.

A nice article on the topic of jacks A guide to recovery jacks, for the beginner . . . or procrastinator — Exploring Overland - https://www.exploringoverland.com/overland-tech-travel/2021/11/14/a-guide-to-recovery-jacks-for-the-beginner-or-procrastinator

Both totally my fault and actually neither were tire failures.

1. Was out in sandstone canyon in Anza and had been there plenty of times. Had the family and was in a hurry, left the deflators on to just go over the washboard. Sheared off a valve stem on a rock. Wife was very happy haha.

2. Second time I was hauling and in a hurry to scope out some camp spots. Nailed a big rock and dented the interior lip of my rock warrior which made me lose a bead essentially. Was at 20 psi.

Lesson repeatedly learned, don’t be in a hurry.

My whole off-road group uses ko2 and we have never had an actual tire failure.

I have a hi lift and the base. The base would definitely make it better. Luckily one time I had some wood to help in the sand. It’s more the amount of turns of the damn thing to get it to raise the axle far enough off the ground that sucks.

The 105 is peak awesomeness in the LC lineage IMHO.

That is one sturdy office chair! :hillbilly:

Had some fun today at a muddy construction site. These are still astoundingly capable even on stock tires, I was at crazy angles, didn’t have to activate anything stayed in 4H. You get back on the road with all this mud caked and it drives the same. 😂😂. Mudflaps really do protect the body and paint. This will all come off next time it rains.

Parked the beast with family, on my way to Perth for a few years. Might end up with another 200 series while there, but also curious about a prado… or maybe a 105 and bring it back…?

Bring back a 300 series LC. Could you imagine the kind of attention and $$$ you'd get for that thing here? :D
