Exactly. Would be a good candidate for an engine.

My first donor motor was from an LX (allegedly) and the upper oil pan was different and missing the oil level sensor bung. Tundras are the same way. Several used motors I found were listed to fit Tundra/Sequoia/LX and not LC. Was frustrating to not find clear answers but a lot of "I heard of a guy that" speculation.

Have you pulled your valve covers to inspect springs? Trollholes in Greenville SC also recently diagnosed 2 200s that were on the death bed by other shops and got them back on the road.
I do know that Trollhole is quite qualified, however, I think their lead-times are sometimes long. I might be wrong on this..., but regardless, my LC has made its way to my trusted independent mechanic today. Diagnostics on Monday......and then a plan will surface....

do you know the reason for these 200 deaths?
Similarly, I wonder if LX570's experience any of this or is it confined to LC's?

given they are supposedly the same truck (resale value aside) - wouldn’t the problems be equal to both ?
So it would seem....

do you know the reason for these 200 deaths?
One was a leaky windshield that fouled the fuse box and footwell electrical, the other a bad starter that the first shop misdiagnosed as a bad motor

At least I can rule out those two symptoms.....;)

Yeah, well I'm probably several years your senior...just a thing! All you young dudes and ladies can no doubt school me as well!

As said, its not the years...it's the the mileage...

and Thanks!

Diagnosed the issue(s) today. The plan is being made. Will update...

What's wrong with your replacement engine that it needs to be replaced again?
UPDATE:

This:
"Vehicle towed in w/ crank no start and P0022. Abnormal cranking noise when attempting to start. Tech conducted compression test to reveal the following: (Acceptable compression should be approx 120 psi or higher):
Cylinder 1: 120
3: 130
5: 100
7: 150

2: 30
4: 0
6: 0
8: 30

There is a problem on the passenger bank of cylinders. Most likely damaged or broken sub-chain (chain that links the intake cam to exhaust cam).
To confirm this, would need to pull valve cover on this side. This is an interference engine and when a timing chain breaks or jumps time, there is most certainly valve or piston damage.
Customer has been experiencing oil consumption since purchase. Therefore, this would be opportune time for engine replacement."

Also atypical. I don't spend much time on the tundra boards but would be the first I've read of this on a 3UR in a 200-series.

There is an asterisk here: The engine in my 200 was swapped in by an incompetent (IMO) used car dealer in Cobb county Ga. The installation was butchered per my indy mechanic, that I trust. Thus setting up the "swapped-in" engine for failure. Additionally, perhaps the "swapped-in" engine was fubar from the beginning as the dealer went quiet on me and would offer no info.

Regardless:
