Sorry to say the time has come. Like many other stories on here, a growing family, 4 other cars, and other areas where funding must be directed has led to this sale.
This is a compilation of several cruisers and several parts. It is titled as a 1975 Fj 40. I'd say its a trail rig, nothing more. Some body work and a good paint job would make it very nice for someone. Its just not me, and its not what I was after in building it.
I started in October of 2003 and steadily added parts and time as they both allowed. A bit into the build I realized that I was living at the time about 45 mins away from Jim C and his shop. I had Jim do most of the work to the engine before I moved. He had it for a while and breathed life back into it with a carb and some other parts. He tweaked it a year or so after I moved to Michigan and he was in town. Since it has been "done" I have driven a total of about 200 miles. I have taken it out of the garage on occasion, let it warm up good and drive it when I can.
Anyway. I have a folder with paperwork and reciepts if you have any questions. It all comes with the truck. I have several extra parts that go with it as well.
This is going from the front to the rear, with what has been done, or whats on it.
Front bumper stock from 1975 FJ 40
Conferr oversized shackles with poly bushings, grade 8 bolts with nyloc nuts
Stock Manual Steering, Rancho RS 5000 stabilizer.
BDS springs 4 inch lift, poly bushings, Rancho RS 5000 Shocks on all corners
Warn mid 80’s 8274 8000# upright, complete tear down. new drum seal, 4 new Napa solenoids, new OEM solenoid cover, new OEM remote, upgraded brake with friction disks and ball bearings, fresh oil. 1 light pull on rebuild. Welding lead cables to frame and battery with heavy duty marine terminals. Warn OEM Cover. Roller fairlead, good cable, new hook.
1968 FJ 40 hood with ornament, new CCOT Hood Hold down hooks. This truck was the prototype for Redline tuning quick struts.

Matching 1977 FJ 40 fine splined front and rear axles. 4.11 gears OPEN diffs. Front completely stripped, cleaned inside and out and rebuilt, all new bearings, seals, felts etc from Cruiser Outfitters, Front housing opened for Stock Mini Truck Birfields which are installed. New hard and soft brake lines on all 4 corners, New front Rotors, Pads, and Calipers. Rear axle has been stripped and cleaned inside and out and painted, Posers Disk Brake bracket and GM Rotors installed, New Calipers and Pads and hard and soft brake lines as well.
New CCOT washer bottle and pump, have stock bottle, untested.
Jim C carb, Jim also set the timing, valves, installed 6 into 1 header, new intake manifold, went over and through dizzy, new plugs installed, with choke cable.
All electric Distributor and igniter from 77+ FJ 40, checked out, and tested by Jim C.
New Valve cover gasket
New OEM Fuel Pump
Aftermarket Temp gauge
New Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses from CCOT.
1975 FJ 40 2F desmogged motor, 4 speed trans and transfer, Jim C checked the compression and all looked good prior to the tune up. Unknown actual miles on engine, trans or transfer.
Needs rear main seal replaced which comes with truck. The engine, trans and tranfer all leak a few drops of oil. Nothing major, but its a 35 year old set up.
Transfercase has a saver plate bolted on.
Body and frame from 1970 FJ 40 VIN unknown as it was ground off the frame horn from a prior aftermarket bumper.
Body in good shape for its age and location (mid west), rust through both outside rockers, rust through the rear sill and part of rear gussets.
Frame is in good shape, no issues with spring hangers.
Body and frame were undercoated by prior owner which probably saved it from the salt demons.
Full Roll cage front and Rear.
Interior was stripped, wire wheeled, cleaned and rhino lined black.
Misc. new parts
New Speedo Cable from CCOT. Speedo works and is accurate per GPS, ODO stopped working.
New Windshield Glass, and OEM Gasket and “lock”
New Wipers from CCOT
New CCOT Side view mirros
New Best Top Bikini Top
New OEM Steel Gas Tank
New 60” Hi Lift Jack never used.

Later model FJ 40 Bucket Seats with 5 point 3” RCI harnesses. Submarine belts not installed but included.

Set of Soft top doors. Doors only, no soft top.
Rear has a Jeep seat not bolted down currently with two new CCOT lap belts which were never used.
(5) 35x 12.50 x 15 inch Goodyear MTRS. These tires have 1 light trail ride and approx 150 street miles, one tire still has the nubs. All mounted on 8 inch steel wheels. no gashes, plugs, or patches.
Rear Tail lights are waterproof and recessed into body.
New custom rear tire carrier, non swing out model.
Older Con Ferr Rear Tube bumper.
Heavy Duty Skid Plate, not installed but included.
All Fluids drained and replaced in last 6 months. Trans, Transfer, Front and Rear Diffs. Oil Change.

Set of 4 near new 31x 10.50x 15 Michelin LTX MS tires mounted on a very nice set of black steel wheels. This tire and wheel set up was intended for use when trailering with a tow dolly. Again no plugs, patches or damage to this set of tires.
Clear Michigan Title with authentic 1975 non expiring Michigan plate and registration.
This truck has not seen a winter in at least 7 years. It has been garaged.
I do not have anything other than the bikini top.
As I pointed out I dont know the actual miles on the drivetrain. Jim did a compression test when it arrived at his shop. The compression checked out good so I had him do the rest of the work.
It has a rattle can ACE Safety Blue spray job. I have a few cans left over that come with the truck.
It has a glass pack muffler, and a basic exhaust pipe to quiet it down and make it legal. It should/could be repalced.
Ebrake cable is cut, and Ebrake not working, Needs a new cable.
Hazzards do not work consistently, fan only runs on high.
All other electrical works as it should, lights, hi and low, brake lights, turn signals, side marker lights, cluster lights.
