PICTURES
The photos are of the truck at its dirtiest. She will be in better condition when you see it in person. More high res pics to be posted soon.

Will consider a trade for Ram 1500/2500 quad cab 4x, Frontier QC 4x, Taco QC 4x, Tundra QC 4x. I'll need your truck and $5000 in cash. Minimum. The values will have to be in my favor. I'd be trading something that will be worth more tomorrow for something that will be worth less tomorrow. Need something I can put a baby and drywall in that has A/C

PLEASE FIND ACC Toyota on Facebook and "like" them. They do great work. There are some pics of the build starting around the end of December.

*UPDATE*
Truck will be in ATL soon so ACC can do a once over before she is sold.

PLEASE DISTINGUISH IN YOUR COMMENTS BETWEEN "MAN, I'D LIKE TO HAVE THAT TRUCK ONE DAY." AND "MAN, I'M GONNA BUY THAT TRUCK FROM YOU TODAY." The former is something one would say when showing general interest in the item being sold, but has no plans to buy soon, nor the means to do so. The latter is used when one is READY to purchase, has secured their financing, and is actually going to take ownership of the item being sold on THAT day.

Any questions regarding the above should be directed to your Mom. That's who helped me understand. I'm sure she can help you too.

Here goes.
First off. The Cuban has ROFR. I'll update accordingly.

$15500. Firm. As is. Where is. This is NOT an asking price. I hold receipts totaling way more than 15k, and doesn't include my purchase of the truck, or the work ACC Toyota has just put into it. I will not tolerate any "offers". In fact, if you a serious about buying the truck and offer me less than $15500, I'll hold a grudge against you. If you're not serious about buying and you make ANY offer, I'll cut you so bad, you're.. gonna... you're gonna wish that... I... that I didn't cut you... so bad.

Title in hand.

Yeah, I'd like to get $22k. I am realistic, however.

For many who know me, this may come as a no shock. The wife and I are "expecting" a surprise in September. A planned move across town commencing this month, a horrible appraisal on a home, along with a recent car issues, totaling motorcycles (that don't belong to me), and other crap is forcing me to sell this truck. This truck was my goal. My wealth prevention plan. Something I think about all the time. I lusted for this truck and it makes me absolutely sick, like really, actually ill, to think about selling. I've been toying with the idea of simply asking a lot of money and letting the games begin. Instead,I know that this is more than a fair price. "I can get one for less money in better shape, though." Well good for fxxxing you. Go get it. The truth is though. You can't. There is not another, better, less expensive, rust free, turn the key and go 40 on the market.

I do have it listed on other sites with the mentality of starting high. I will accept 15.5 and not a friggin' penny less.
er. The truck is setup as a daily driver. Not a trailer queen or a show rig. Quite possibly the most well suited FJ40 for everyday use. Commute comfortably at 65mph at 2500rpm and talk on the phone.

The truck is rust free.

This is the bad stuff- There is a small dent on the center of the hood that has been filled in. This winter the bondo cracked and is now visible when the light is right. I hate body fillers, so I "bought" (Jay, I'll pay you as soon as I can.) a new hood. It just needs to be prep'd and painted. There is a support bracket under each of the front fenders that were welded? at the factory. The seams can be seen through the paint on the top side of the fender. I'd like to get that fixed sooner than later. Again, no rust. The headliner was brand new, until it came unglued from the roof one hot day. There is currently no headliner. The drivers seat is beginning to separate on the lower cushion at a few seams. There is a noise in the motor that I want to get checked out by ACC. I have a wee bit of OCD. It's probably nothing, but I want it checked. The power steering line is weeping a bit more than I'd like. The truck came originally with no rear seats. I found some and had them refurb'd by ACC and powder coated. There are some little rust holes in the base or the seats but are now powdered and won't be of issue. The seatbelts are original and are dingy looking. All the tierod ends should be replaced soon, but seem to be doing fine.

NOW FOR THE FUN STUFF- ACC Toyota recently (January) built a 2F / 4 speed for us. (The motor came out of an 87 FJ60 with 80k on it? It was removed because the owner was doing a conversion on the truck). The block was inspected and then painted. Head reworked, Saginaw Power steering was added. Bosch gear reduction starter, new high output alternator, One piece header, all new gaskets, hoses, clamps, new clutch, TO bearing, pilot, machined flywheel, new pressure plate. Everything was power-coated. If it was raw aluminum from the factory, it is now powdered clear. If is was black from the factory, it's now powdered black. Just a beautiful motor. 4 speed trans. mated to the factory tcase. The paint on the truck is outstanding but is not new. I have a truck soft top (as seen in the first pic) but the hard top is on currently. The heater is new. There is a Ramsey 8000# winch on the SOR bumper. Rear pintle hitch. Rear EZ locker diff, SOR padded roll cage. All new OE window seals. All new OE door seals. Tuffy Center console with hidden and waterproof stereo pocket. Outdoor speakers mounted to the cage (they are kind of crappy but I've enjoyed having them). I'm 6'3" and had the seat rails for both front seats modified so I could COMFORTABLY drive. I've done long distance trips with the truck and am ok for about 3 hours at a time before I need a stretch. All lights and gauges work. 33x12.5's BFG MT's (not km2's). The tires are in great shape, and have almost 5000 miles on them, but are nearly 6 years old. Rocker panel sliders are welded to the frame. Two sets of off-road lights., reverse lights, under truck lighting. etc.

If you're looking for one of these, then you know the value has increased steadily since short after it's inception. They will (hopefully) continue to increase in value. NADA high retail is 22,500. AVERAGE (this truck is NOT average) is $15.5k

Come by to see and drive it. We have plenty of room if you need to stay with us. We can also pick you up from the airport if you'd like to drive it home. Shipping can be arranged also. Thanks so much and good luck.

I'm doing my best to get a lot of new pics up and viewable. I'll have a solution up and running soon.

Thanks again. I know she won't disappoint.

SOLD to one of the nicest guys I've ever talked to. She's going to PA.

Damn! Just found this thread and was in the process e-mailing you. Well, someone got a nice 40 for a great price! If it falls through for some reason let me know.

Awesome! Whadya get?

Where abouts do you live?If you need any help with it, get a hold of us.

Congrats on the sale! Glad you were able to sell to a person rather than a dealer. Now you know someone will take care of it as you have. That was a great looking rig.
I bought a 74 with a Chevy small block 400. Very little rust as it came out of Nevada, but there is some to address. I'm trying to decide how much I like the motor.... might want to go back to a 2F at some point. I'm in Hillsborough just outside of Chapel Hill. This is my first 40 so I've been reading a lot on this forum to learn. LOTS of great people on here!

What is the difference? Plan on selling to Apple Tree

How you doin Jeremy? I'd still love to hang at GSMTR this year.

I'm confused. You say up top that you will take no less than $15,500 for it, but will sell it to a dealer for 12,500? Is the 12,500 offer available to forum members? Not interested in buying, just trying to clear some confusion for a potential buyer on here. Beautiful rig by the way.

This was why I was asking, just a little confusing.

Anyways, glad you got her sold. I know that is a load off your back. We will definitely hang out at GSMTR. I'll even let you drive my 40 since I know you miss driving a Freeborn red 40.:)

Hells yeah!

It amazes me how clear and concise something is in my head. I then feel like I'm able to put it in words for the world to understand. What comes out though is just rubbish. ha

Rocinante will be missed.

I have spent the last 6 years of my life around this vehicle. This cruiser was one of the main things that got me back into land cruisers. The former owner Alex and I had many adventures in this cruiser. It's sad to see her go.
