Purchased in 1996 from 2nd owner. Rebuilt 2F engine and 4 speed transmission has approximately 500 miles. Mostly original with Vintage Air AC and power steering added. Lights, gauges and windshield wipers work as should and are original to vehicle. New wiring and hoses throughout with approximately same amount of miles as engine. Seats are is great shape, all interior seat frames in great shape. Does need drip edge, driver and passenger rocker panel work, driver tope left floor pan at seam has rust through. Vehicle is a steady and sure running vehicle with 0 mechanical issues to my knowledge. Manual choke with original carb (rebuilt) has always started for me.

I have a mid to late 70’s FJ40 for sale, this was the last year the fuel tank was located under the passenger seat. I disassembled it and had the frame sandblasted, epoxy primed and sprayed with urethane paint. I then ran into some health issues and by the time they had passed I had lost interest in the project.
I have most of what is needed to put it back together including a new tub, transmission cover, roof, front fenders, front bib and rear fender flares from Mike Gozzard. I have the steel ambulance doors and all of the other body pieces, as well as what’s left of the original tub for reference on reassembling the firewall. It has the 4 speed transmission and the 2F engine. The engine ran great before it was mothballed, no leaks...
After 43 years of owning this '75 FJ40 I am putting it up for sale. I bought it when it was only 4 years old and it has always been a California vehicle. This 1971 FJ40 has been a California car since new and it shows! Incredibly low mileage (31,140 miles), spent the majority of the last 25 years inside a climate-controlled shop as part of a collection.
Exterior paint is nearly flawless with complete 7-passenger black leather interior. The supercharged V8 engine is driven by a high-flow electronic fuel pump and MSD performance ignition system, paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. With the twin exhaust, this thing really growls (check out the video clip linked below).
Recent work includes new high output alternator, new battery, new tires, new carb jets and tuning, and new hydraulic on rear door. Starts and runs great every time - needs nothing!

SO my father had bought this to fix it up but never really had the time to do so. It has been sitting outside for years now, and it's time to let go of it.
I mean it's a piece of work for sure, a lot of it is normal FJ40 things.
-rear quarters are rusted to hell, the frame and underside is also rusted.
-it run decent until you give it some gas and then sputters.
-rear leaf springs mounts are rusted out, and not in good condition.
-leaks oil

1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40
Mostly original, California delivered, 102,600 miles from new with the original 2F motor - with California CARB compliant Downey numbered headers (IYKYK). I love this truck. It has quirks but is the best sounding 2F I have ever heard and gets more good happy attention than anything I’ve ever driven.
It has some rust on the floors (around the original factory drivers side front sound deadening and rear floor). The rear deck lip, rocker and cowl have been painted and the floors rattle canned black at some point in its life. I’ve recently (last 100 miles just to cars and coffee) put new BFGKo2’s, steel wheels with caps, new clutch, resurfaced flywheel, brake master cylinder and added some Kc driving lights...

Howdy y'all. Life has thrown some S balls my way so I am posting up my 1971 FJ40 for sale to see if anyone wants to finish my project there way. I've spent about a year stripping the interior of bedliner.. taking off the diamond plate rear quarter panel and finding a bunch of bondo..stripping all the bondo. Welding tons of holes. Cut out a couple cancer spots and welded in new sheet metal. Been taking my time not rushing things but now my time is running out 🙃

1977 FJ40 all smog equipment there and in tact, runs great but I didn’t take it for a drive. I told him the diamond plate is likely the biggest detractor and I’d pull it off (supposed to be same paint underneath). Doesn’t leak, dirty from driving northern Montana roads but the front and rear floors look pretty clean (no rust). Couldn’t tell about rear sill or in the corners. 1970 FST. Spring green. Has soft top bows minus the rear bow. Has doors but will need some metal work at bottoms. Has lots of the original color on it. Rust in every panel. With the exception of the correct one piece tailgate. No rear seats.
1969. No top no doors. Has rear seat frames but will need work. Spring over axle with some sort of four linked system. Rust in rockers, front floors, other places. Former spring green color that has flat black paint over it. I actually used acetone in a couple areas and was able to get to it.

Looking to sell my FJ40 and looking for some input on what it may be worth. Located in Parker, Az
What you see is what you get, no top or doors. Original 1F Engine with good compression. Newer clutch/E Brake. New exhaust. Odometer says 44K but likely it has 144K. It runs and drives OK, but needs work in steering, suspension, etc. Has tube front fenders. Some rust in usual spots in rocker panel, rear fenders, and rear under diamond plate. But overall tub in good condition, its been rhino lined on the inside. I just use it to putt around town or launch my boat. Any more than that it would need some love. Only selling cause I am selling my vacation house in Az. Let me know if any interest. Thks
