Howdy there y'all. I'm posting this for a friend, but I know this FJ well. What we have for sale here is a 1978 FJ43 from Colombia which currently resides in Baker Louisiana with a clean Louisiana Title. Last week on BaT (1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1978-toyota-land-cruiser-fj43-26/) the highest bid of $15,500 failed to meet the reserve. I love this FJ, I know her well, I wish he didn't have to sell it, and I wish I could buy it. I'll give you a run down of the ups and downs. There's a million pictures on that Bat link btw.
Bad : She does have some electrical quirks about her as do many if I had to imagine. Like lighting or killing. Both of which maybe are super easy fixes if you know wiring...

A true all original untouched Troopy barn find!
2H Diesel Motor and 4spd box, which run and shift like new.
Originally purchased from Motorama Truck Centre in Moorooka October 1981. Was later traded in, also at Motorama, and purchased by the 2nd owner with 21,716km's on it.
In the late 1990's the owner put it up on blocks in his garage with only 79,050km's...
1981 BJ42 LHD imported from Vancouver Island in 2016. Has all new brakes, 3row radiator, clutch and slave/master, front shackle reversal, shocks, all new axle seals front and rear. Rear pinion crush sleeve needs replaced (have new one and also a solid pinion spacer not installed). Toyota P/S pump was added with new gm steering gear. Has 3:70 gears. New Bestop soft top. 24volt. Engine runs great. It does have oil leaks. Needs tires and paint. Frame and axles were sand blasted and rattle canned. New bushings in the leafs. The body was swapped to a 70/71 due the old one having too much rot. $15,000 obo. Odometer shows 36,000 kms I'm sure it has rolled over so most likely 136000 kms.
Just got this in a bulk buy dont know much about it. vary solid 99% of rust has been remove mostly on the rockers and rear fenders. the rear fenders have mostly beed cut off. not sur why but its what is here. looks like a chevy 350 dont know anything about it. trans looks to be a 435 or similar and a 205 transfer. I have title and ready to move it. 9k or bo.
Completely restored troopy. Year long restoration process. Truck is in TN. Have some minor work being done on it. Clutch leaked onto floor board so I'm having that touchedup Asking 60k. Clean truck shows 156954 km. I have lots and lots of pics.
Recently restored/imported. Total frame-off, nut and bolt resto. Newly rebuilt 3B and 4-speed with only 1000km (620mi) on them. Zero leaks or issues—it's an extremely smooth driver. Also LHD, soft-top, and has a clean US title!

Thinking about selling my Troopy. I imported this from AU ages ago. It's RHD with power steering. It started life as an HJ45 and I swapped in a turbo 3B. There's a build thread here.
It's got an H55F and a Marlin Crawler Toybox. ARB air lockers front and rear. OME lift. I have tons of spare parts (a few 3B-style input shaft H55F transmissions, a spare 3B, just too much to list at the moment. ) I'll try to catalog it all if people are interested.
I have barely used it the past few years and have some other projects in mind. Selling the Troopy will free up garage space and funds.

I have two FJ45s - will sell either one or possibly both. This ad is for a 1977 FJ45. The other ad is for a 1978 FJ45.
Runs and drives. Original drivetrain - 6 cylinder gas engine and manual transmission. A Canadian truck with relatively low usage. The undersides of the cab and fenders were coated with a layer of foam that probably helped protect from the elements. Body has some rust, as you can see. Frame looks good with no rust through found. It has a non-original PTO. It comes with a new muffler. Overall very good box and tailgate. Interior mostly original. Engine compartment original. A project truck or use in the meantime as is with minimal work. New inner and outer rockers and cab corners available at extra cost...

I have a 1979 hj45 truck for sale it was imported from Australia with a clean NC title. it has a flat aluminum tray bed with fold down sides. Big aluminum front bumper. H engine with 4 speed transmission. Body was disassembled and painted cab didn't co.e off the frame. Frame and under side of the cab were rhino lined most all the window gaskets and door seals were replaced. It has been sitting due to the shop losing help. Just needs the lights rewired rims and tires and a little love to finish it

I am selling my very nice MPR fiberglass hard top for an FJ43 or BJ43. The hard top is made out of 4 parts: two sides, one (sliding) door and the roof. Comes with brand new rubber seal for the roof.
´Sliding door´ means that the spare tire carrier is locked to the back door and slides open as soon as the door is opened due to a swivel-mechanism.

Government truck. In the right light you can see the gov emblem on the doors. Very very clean. Steering is tight. No weird sounds. Strong engine. Bed is in very good shape. Absolutely no rust. Most of the bed looks to be original paint. Fenders,hood and tailgate look to be painted.
1967 FJ45 Truck in Boise ID $6,000
Found in a storage yard in 2019- it had been sitting since the 80's. I have no information on the previous owner or what they "installed". The 283 that was installed was seized and it appears to be 'bio-fuel'. The bed tank was filled with 'gel' and was tossed. Currently it is a roller with OEM axles and wheels. Motor and trans were tossed and so was the interior (That was all Buick)
There is a small cut into the dash that will have to be patched to be whole again. The body is in great shape and has been rattle-canned blue. I took a scotch-brite pad and removed it exposing the OEM white underneath. Man-A-Fre top rack included.
Included is a soft top with doors too.

This is also the perverbial lipstick on a pig FJ43 from Colombia and I will try to be as transparent as possible about it.
The good:
It looks pretty darn good as it sits; It runs and drives; clutch is good - no hopping etc.; I have driven about 100 miles in it - does not overheat; the interior was redone prior to import; the tub is a new 3/4 tub; engine and drivetrain appear to have been gone through prior to import - lots of shiny hardware showing. Basically it got a Colombian body off restoration (for better or worse). brakes work but...

I have FJ45 fever and am desperately trying to find a truck.
I have an LJ70 that I quite like, but my wife (perhaps correctly) argues that it is not justifiable to keep as we build our house.
I need a pickup to haul building materials and I would prefer to trade my turn key LJ70, LHD, California registered truck. It's really a nice vehicle and I wish I could keep it. If I sell the LJ, chances are I will end up with something boring, which I can't deal with.
Ideal spec for me would be a middle eastern FJ45 (LHD). I've had several JDM trucks and am open to RHD though, also.
Engine condition is not a big consideration to me, as I plan to transplant it anyway. I would prefer to not do a lot of body work, but I am OK with...
