Howdy there y'all. I'm posting this for a friend, but I know this FJ well. What we have for sale here is a 1978 FJ43 from Colombia which currently resides in Baker Louisiana with a clean Louisiana Title. Last week on BaT (1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1978-toyota-land-cruiser-fj43-26/) the highest bid of $15,500 failed to meet the reserve. I love this FJ, I know her well, I wish he didn't have to sell it, and I wish I could buy it. I'll give you a run down of the ups and downs. There's a million pictures on that Bat link btw.
Bad : She does have some electrical quirks about her as do many if I had to imagine. Like lighting or killing. Both of which maybe are super easy fixes if you know wiring.
She does have some leaks going on from a few places but not enough to make drop really.
More than a couple of vacuum hoses deleted although it doesn't seem to effect it.
The back rounded corner windows are painted Plexi.
The tint job is garbage.
Customs put some stickers in like 3 spots about the size of a dollar bill where the adhesive just won't come off completely it seems.
But that is honestly the only things I can say I dislike about it.
Good! :
The 2F runs dang good. Shifts good. 4wd works good.
H55 5 speed/split case swap which is great. No grinds. Clutch feels good.
Brand spankin new tires
Brand new battery
The paint is new and good
The interior is new and good
Added A/C
Rusty aftermarket header, Ricey muffler behind the stock muffler so its super quiet and actually sounds kinda good lol.
Solid vehicle though.
