What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Anybody know someone that repairs the early dashboard vinyl sections? Mine finally cracked after 33yrs :(

I don't really want to get all custom with this if I can avoid doing so.
There's a place in LA, I'm sorry that I can't recall the name of the shop, that repairs dash pads.vinyl. But, I think it's very spendy. I thought about doing something similar with the cracked dash on my 62, but I ended up buying a replica dash pad cover from Cool Cruisers of Texas. It looks very good, but it doesn't retain the "softness" of the original.

For our 80, which has a cracked dash pad too, I ordered an Escape Gear dash cover. It's got tons of storage pockets, it covers the cracks and it looks pretty darn nice too. That might be an option to consider.

Upgraded to Syn rope.

They're in Van Nuys but as mentioned very expensive

Do you want an OEM head unit?
Nope. I spent a few weeks using the OEM head unit in the 96 when I bought it back in Feb. FM radio is horrible! Also, I’ve ceded the spatial reasoning part my brain to Google Maps. Car play is fantastic.

Good morning. Wasn't actually this weekend but a couple days ago while out and about enjoying the LC. Rolled 260k on it. View attachment 4148213
Nice. You should snap a picture at 260626 (year 2026, June 26th). Mine is at 470k. I'll share a picture when it's 500k. Unfortunately, new cars aren't built like our 80s.
