I am toying with the idea of parting with my beloved BJ44. I am relatively new to the forum, so I am completely open to input. I own a 1980 FJ40 and picked up this BJ44 a while back. I had planned to do a full restoration but a new job and a little girl are taking priority. I believe it is original exterior paint and upholstery. The previous owner tried to touch up the internal paint, but it couldn't definitely use some TLC. Overall great shape. It starts right up, runs well, and turns heads everywhere I drive it. I have gone through all the registration process in California, and it is ready to make someone grin ear to ear.

I have a 1981 BJ44 for sale.
Truck is Right Hand Drive, with ~190k kilometers on it. It runs well and is registered in California, but has substantial rust.
I'm not an expert here, so will share what I know openly- and answer any questions the best I can. Will add photos soon.
I bought the truck 7 years ago from the guy who brought it over from Japan. It's been CA registered since I bought it.
It has a 2b motor, and a Turboglide turbo. New 31 inch tires and recently rebuilt front axle. I replaced both batteries recently- but have had issues with retaining their charge- so may need to bereplaced. Runs well and gets good mileage. Red exterior. Almost entirely original interior in good shape.

SOLD SOLD Hi guys.I have decided to sell my 1980 BJ43 to make some extra funds available for my new project the BJ74 rolling drivetrain with a BJ43 body.This BJ43 I found in Europe a year or 2 ago and it had been parked for over 20 years when I found it.Once I got it in the US it only took me 30 min to get her running again but found the reason why she was parked that long ago.The front third had locked up and broke the Transfercase.At that point I decided to do a frame off resto mod and I replaced the B with a 3B and a later model split case with E brake.Added power steering,disc brakes and a 4" lift.Overhauled both axles and installed all new seals gasket bearings and a set of Spartan lockers fr and rear.This is not the most original...
1976 Toyota Landcruiser FJ45 this truck originally came from switzerland, many many years ago
then the owner changed with a low mileage 3b diesel motor, The truck motor is solid and fires right up, runs really strong, the truck has had regular oil changes and rad flushes. The only leak the truck has is on the injection pump where you pump the primer the o-ring is leaking on the part where you tighten it back (white plastic piece) most likely I will resolve this as soon as I have freetime, so that would mean motor has zero leaks. The tranny is 4 spd, lots clutch left, and front disc brakes rear drum are solid, newer master cylinder no leaks on brakes. The truck does have power steering

This is an aussie spec 77 fj45 recently imported and located in california.This is a great project truck that runs very strong,112km,2f, h41 4spd, factory full float rear end, 16'' split rims, full lpg propane system intact and working.This is a great drive it while you fix rig or blow it apart for a restoration.It has some rust issues but nothing major,some small holes in the corners of the floor, rockers are solid,bed floor and tailgate need some work,roof has a couple holes in the corners(all pretty easy to fix) the truck runs great and brakes are strong,but clutch slips so will need a clutch.Most electrical works.This is definately a project truck but with a little effort could be a great driver with plenty of character! It cannot...

I am reluctantly selling my 1980 FJ 43. I am Canadian, but live and work in Colombia. It is my local driver and is in great shape, totally original except for the stereo and wheels and 100% rust free. It has 223,000 km's (about 138,000 miles) power steering and power assisted brakes. Well I'm starting to gauge some interest for my 1983 HJ47 Troopy (production 10/83 so in the USA it would be a 84)
This was imported from Australia several months ago and will be titled in Colorado
I really don't want to see it go but I'm not using it for what I thought I would and my family always wants to take the 80 series so I mainly have been driving this to work and around town
I'm working on getting it titled and should have that complete in the next couple of weeks
It runs fantastic and could be used as a daily driver
It has the stock 2H diesel and I have figured out around 22mpgs
Everything works great except for the horn including the intermittent wipers!
The interior is in great condition other than a tear in the driver...
