A lot of information is available for the short wheel base FJ40 (BJ40) and for the FJ45 (BJ45) long wheel base Toyota Land Cruisers. But there is very limited information to the rare Medium Wheel Base FJ43 (BJ43) model, numbers state that less than 50 of these vehicles exist in the US and this is the next one.
This is a beautiful 1982 BJ43, which is even rarer than the gasoline engine. It is powered by a mighty 2.9 diesel engine. VINBJ4300xx

Got this pig earlier this fall and been enjoying it all summer. Never had one before and have enjoyed and would like to find a running FJ45 if anyone has one they want to trade. I will put up more pictures and info about my 55 later.
We'll I have two fjs and I'm wanting to convert one to a fj45 truck off-road machine. I was gonna see if anyone had a complete cab that would wanna trade. I have frame and all the other stuff I need I just need the cab with roof. My roller is a 1980 fj40 that the PO started to fix the tub. It's not too bad of a job just needs touched up. It has all of the running gear, front axle, rear axle, trans, transfer, block and head. Also has windshield frame it's just not on truck in pic. Let me know if anyone has anything. I also have tons of spare parts that I don't need like another 4spd trans and matching transfer case, extra block, head, and misc other things. Thanks

These things do not reSELL quick so I am hesitant to spend the cash on a BJ7* or HJ and not be able to recoup my costs a few months later. The 4* series is really where I see the value and these things cost money over the years SO help me start off in the best place and INTRODUCE ME TO SOMEONE WITH A DAMN GOOD CRUISER!!!!!!!

For Sale: 1981 BJ42. 250 km + Canadian version 24 volt with aluminum tub. I have not restored anything, it is a great work truck that runs and drives like it's age. Frame is in excellent condition. NO Rust on frame. Vehicle has numerous other areas with rust...door sills in all 4 doors. Firewall and fenders showing signs. Extent of rust is undetermined but can be seen through older paint job that was done when tub was replaced. Floor pans have small rust holes at inside corners near tyranny tunnel. This would make an excellent project, I simply do not have the time. I have a working speedo, a red arc 24 volt to 12 volt converter rated to 50 amps, and a aluminum radiator NIB that I will include with sale. I am posting here...

This is a great condition 1980 Toyota BJ40, RHD, (Diesel) Land Cruiser with power steering and A/C. Most of the Land Cruisers did not come with these options.

Very original survivor california fj45 lwb pickup. Never been restored and engine never been out of truck. Runs and drives great, all gauges work, shifts smooth, new seats, weatherstrip, tires, headliner. History back to early 70's, 3rd owner, clean title, currently registerred in california. This truck has no rust with all original sheet metal, no bondo, no body work. These are very hard to find in this condition, only add ons was floor shift and an amp gauge( have everything to go back to column shift) also complete pto winch,( gearbox and driveshaft not installed) reluctant sale, $16,500 located in the bay area, california.

1980 BJ42
3B diesel. 30 mpg all daylong. Really nice. Zero dents. Runs excellent. Zero smoke. No oil leaks. I've been daily driving it since I got it when its sunny. 2" lift. Needs a headliner because the one in it is dirty. Aside from that it needs nothing really. I sanded it down and painted it myself with Toyota code 012 Cygnus White which is the original color. I am not a professional but it looks great. There are some spots from an of paint job I plan on going back and re-sanding. Basically chips in the old paint that sorta show through. i've had a ridiculous amount of compliments. New battery. new front calipers and pads.

Head gaskets, valve guides seals and swirl cup replaced, new hoses, new clutch , new clutch master /slave, two new yellow tops, new starter, new brake master, new wheel cly, new rear shoes and front pads. 2 1/2pro-comp lift and Advanced handling shackle rev. 33 1250r15Km2 on 15x10 alum wheel ARB bull bar 24 volt 8274, alum Snorkle with ARB and prefilter tops $20000.00 firm and with both tops, turbo and all my extra 40 parts and bring a trailer for it all.... $25000.00 may take part trade for Fj40
