I'm having a hard time sourcing a radiator for my 91 fj80. I've found plenty of 93-97 radiators. Will they interchange with the 91? I'd like to stay as close to oem as possible (koyo?). Any suggestions?

I'd love to go OEM but i can't justify the $600+. Radiator barn looks like a good alternative. How's yours holding up Mike? Has anyone else had any experience with Radiator Barn.
Cheers, Adam

I don't see that Koyo makes a radiator for the 3FE, it's CSF or OEM. The CSF is brass/copper, 3 row. Part number is 2709. My cost to buy it is $200 from CSF.

1800 Radiator has a warehouse in Anchorage. Phone number is 907-562-0384 or 1-800-723-4286, or 1800radiator.com. The part number is 2840.

Not sure if the later years work, as the brackets may not be compatible with a different core. The 91 core is 17x29x2, while the late model is 17x28x2. Another difference is the location of the filler neck.

It might work just fine, but it might not.

Your 62 radiator is a direct bolt in if you need time.

Sounds like you got that price from your local dealer, not from the dealers here on mud.

Your OEM radiator lasted 20 years. Longevity and proper fitment should be factored in to admission price IMO.

Just got mine ('92 LC) from 1800radiator.Happened to have a store locally. They gave me a $25 discout,so out the door was $340.Super nice guys

What brand?

I would think you could get OEM from Beno for about that.

Thanks for all the info i'll check the anchorage shop and go from there. Adam

Radiator

check out the all aluminum radiator from shepherd auto parts,,,
I have been using this on my 92 for about five months, daily driven,,, no problems...
I bought this after I saw a few guys here using it... search the forum ...

Radiator, how good will it be?

Radiator for the 92 came in today. Turns out the brand is Silla made in China. Now I'm skeptical. I went though a few searches and found a post from 91 Cruizer that his lasted only a few months. I'm hoping 91 Cruizer's was an isolated incident.
Radiator looks fine (3 cores about 3/4" ea.) We'll give it a try and report back with findings. Here's a few pics:

Looks good, and the price is even better. One of my friends have one of those on his 40 and so far is working good.

Thanks for the reply. I also have an all aluminum one (not sure the manufacturer) in one of my 40's and so far it has been working out great. If you're looking for one, I noticed after delivery that there are other co's that sell the same for less.

92 Aluminum Radiator

Got the Silla radiator installed today. Took about 2 1/2 hours with my son's help to remove and install. So far I'm impressed. No adjustments needed. All mounting points, brackets, etc. fit perfectly. Only difference I noticed was there were no overflow tube holders on the top as shown best in pic #1. I shortened the tube about 1/2" to stretch it tightly seems to work. Drove about 40 miles and no problems. Here's a few pics:

Nice. The same eBay vender also has a 2 row radiator for $120. I wonder which one is better?
