I am currently active army in Iraq, I have been long time Toyota fan owning 2 4runners and finally got a landcruiser:D. I wasnt sure what cruiser to get figuring I love all the models, but I finall settled on a 1994 Toyota FZJ80 Landcruiser. I am not sure when I will be going back to Maine to work on m truck but hopefully here in upcoming months. I will be out of army in September assuming all goes well.
I was planning on doing this thread all at once but I am inpatient and figured I would give a tease!!!
The truck is well maintained and has 212xxx miles on her. I have already purchased 5 315-75-16 Goodyear Duratracs. I bought a used OME 2.5 Medium lift off of someone here on mud, it will work for now until I figure out what my needs are for truck.
Once I am home I will document and take pics of everything I do down to the basic maintenance items I will be doing first. I love build up threads and threads with lots of pics so thats whaat mine will be.
The truck will be used for mild wheeling and alot of camping trips and will be my daily driver. It will carry 3 people and 2 dogs. I plan on doing pretty much everthing imaginable to it but will decide as I drive it and get to know it the order fo those things to come.
I havnt even seen her in person so I thank my bro and his girl for taking all pics for me. I hope you all enjoy and IH8MUD is awesome. I cant wait to be back and get this thread really going.

Here are the pics of the ome 2.5 medium lift. It is surface rust and I plan on cleaning and giving shocks new coat of yellow and the springs will probably get a coat of green to match the truck. I do not count on this being my permanent lift just something to give me a feel for the truck and as I drive I will decide on where I want to go with it. They look nasty but it is stupid little projects like painting and making them look good that actually make me happiest.:p

I was going to go with steel wheels but I decided on just painting the stock wheels. Im thinking black but once I get home and can check out some colors who knows what I will end up with. The trim will get the paint treatment also, black for sure. All my emblems will get a coat of yellow. I think green and yellow work. So picture the toyota emblem on the front yellow. Gotta throw in some color here and there for some bling. Not sure where I will add some inside the interior but I will for sure. :flipoff2:

So I ordered these thru 4wheelparts and that were back ordered through the company so they took awhile to get to my house. All 5 did and heres some pics next to the truck just to give an idea of wat the will look like.
Oh and since the springs came unlabeled does anyone know how to identify which ones are front back, left and right????I will be ordering all my basics through cdan when when I get back for the tune up stuff. I hope it is summer when I return so I do not have to do the work in the cold.

Sise by side it shows the tire size difference better. Heres some random ones. I can tell you already the running boards are going bye bye along with rear spoiler and factory roof rack. For now I contemplating what I want to waste money on next and what front bumper to go with. Slee is winning againts ARB but I am on east coast and woods are the terrain so that upper hoop on ARB looks nice, well see.

Julian,

Nice truck!

The tires will look great, too!

Stay safe and hopefully you'll get to wrench on your truck soon!

Jealous.

You are going to love the Duratracs. I get compliments almost every time I get out of my truck now about them.

Low road noise as well so the road trips will be peaceful.

Yes I am super excited, been a long time waiting to be able to do stuff. Contacting cdan to order some stuff as i type this.

No I didnt I havnt even seen her in person, my mother and my girl and a friend went and checked it out for me. So supposedly all is well.

Update............... I will be home on leave in little over a week. I have a box from CDan sitting with all my filters and plug and wires along with a interior trim kit which is yellow to go with my theme. I will be off to the store one my first days back to get some tools and some jack stands and a jack. I will be getting all the fluids and a battery! I am going all synthetic though I have not decided on the brands yet for them. I will be getting paint as well for the wheels and suspension. As soon as I get the stuff done I will be taking her out and wheeling her.

Safe travels, welcome home, and I hope the LC is all you expect and then some.

J.

Congrats and Thanks!:flipoff2:

Where in Maine are you located? I am about 10 minutes from Bangor. I have only seen 2 other 80's in the Bangor area in the last 6 months. Rare find for around these parts. I had to go to Virginia to find mine.

jlm43 I am in Pittsfield which is little south of Bangor, really close actually to where you are then. No I never spot to many cruisers in Maine. I forget his name but there is another guy on here with a built 80 in Franklin if I recall correctly. I am really excited and wont be able to work on it as much since I only have 2 weeks and have family and stuff to occupy my time but either way I am going make time and have fun!
