Here's a video of it installed and running...

I will be doing a write up of the installation for those that might want to do the same.

BTW, Thanks to Mace for the idea of getting the gauge pod from Pep Boys

I'd love to see the write-up of the mechanical water temp install.

Nice! I'm looking forward to your write up as I want to do just the same. Hope you include part or model number for the pod so we can all get the right one.

I don't think it can be dimmed down, but I kind of like the way it looks...kind of like a cockpit or something. It may be distracting at first, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I kind of rigged the adapter to the head to work, but it's leaking a little. Autometer makes an extended adapter for this purpose.

I'm going to order it then I'll do the write-up on the install. I don't want to tell people how to do it, then have it leak!

Yup -- Please include part #'s and purchase locations - Thanks for doing the legwork! Looks groovy! Nice vid, too. Like the way that motor purrrrsss... Like Speed Racer!

You need an adapter.....I forgot which one but it allows a mechanical temp probe to be installed at the port on the rear top of the I-6 cylinder head. The mechanicl probe is too long otherwise to fit, as the hole is rather shallow. I think the one I used was an autometer and I got it from summit... My I-6 is gone now or I would post a pic.

Looks good. Is that the 60-series specific gauge pod that's been talked about lately?

Naw, it's a generic Autometer pod that seemed to fit the pillar the best of the ones I tested. It still needs a little trimming and I'm going to use some black anodized screws and countersink the plastic a little for a cleaner look.

I'll have all the part numbers and methods in my write up.

I went to Autometer.com and didn't see any generic A pillar pods. They all seem to be made for specific vehicles. Which specific vehicle was yours made for that you had success with?

Yeah, now that I look at it, it was vehicle specific. It was one for a Honda Civic P/N 20410. It's not a perfect fit, but with some trimming, it's pretty close.

Sorry man, I will be doing it soon. I've been tied up with this Knuckle Rebuild, but I will be getting to it soon as I know some people would like to see it.:wrench:

haha, forgot all about this. I'm glad I waited because I had to do some modification to what I thought was the final product.

I'll see if I can get to it tomorrow.

Thanks for the reminder.
