Snapped the antennae off the 60 today. Been bent for a while now.

Did a search and found the two threads on antennaes that spoke about the stubie rubber replacement ones and the spring bottomed ones.

Just wondering if anyone else has done something different?

Thanks

I wanna motorized one that only extends when you switch on the radio (not the CD). Used to be able to find a decent one for about $30.

Well I think you could swap a motorized unit out of a 62 ?

THe OEM manual antenna is still avalaible... I just had to replace mine.

I know there are some aftermarket types avalaible. Nothing complicated about the install or removal other than getting that *%&^ bezel nut loose. I don't know how well the rubberized ones work as far as reception.

Rubber duckie antennas are great no more broken shafts by trees or pesky kids in the hood.

Yep, that works if it's what you want. You would purchase the FJ62 antenna and also an antenna switch for the FJ60 (assuming you have an FJ60)...

FJ62 power antenna: 86300-90A25 MSRP: $188.53
FJ60 switch: 84760-90A00 MSRP: $86.40

New stuff is not cheap, but it's OEM.

$8.99---NAPA

Black and spring bottom, extends super high when needed

anyone have that NAPA part #? I can't find it on the website...

Cheers!

I like the new antennas on the current Toyotas. Wonder if they have a swivel base for adjusting for the different angles on the fenders?

What, I think this is it:

Item#: BK 7304857

Do you have to take the fender off to replace the antenna?

Nope. Just remove the windshield washer fluid tank and that'll give you access to it. I didn't have a problem removing the nut at the base of the antennae either.

Just like what Macneil says. Remove the washer bottle and sling it off to the side.

Pretty easy job.

Welp, thanks for the heads up on the NAPA antennae. That's exactly what I did.

It was $9.99 at the NAPA here on Martha's Vineyard. Go figure.

Looks cool and it is super tall!

Red Cruiser,

No, I don't think the black antenna will make your rig super cherry red but, a once a year, horribly painfull, all done by hand(don't own a buffer) turtle wax cleaner plus carnuba and about 4 hours of hell may yield shiny results.
