This is not a cruiser imported to the US. Seems the rest of the world mainly got soft top models with hard doors. Even in the early years when were were getting soft tops with the different door opening other parts of the world were getting hard doors on soft tops. What I would like to know is where was it put together. If Japan I know what year it is. But Brazil might be another story. Later in the 62 the FJ40 got a ash tray. Then defrost duct were added to the windshield. I have the info of the VIN change and both were in 62. But that front bumper was only on FJ40s made in 61. At least in Japan. Brazil could be different.

A few things are not original like the tail lights, reverse light added and the canvas top. Unless it was a Brazil thing the bows have also been modified. The mid bow that went from side to side is gone and three bows added front to back. The original pintle hook would of had two eye bolts on the bottom. Not knocking this cruiser I'm sure it's a barn find every cruiser lover dreams of. I would like to see what the base of the floor shifter looks like. The trasmission until mid 63 was different. The floor shifter is rare here in the US. I remember SOR had one on their site that they wanted $400 for just the shifter. I now wish I would have bought it. My oldest FJ40 with a rust body had the cleanest three speed transmission I have ever seen in any three speed. No wear at all on the non syncro first gear which is almost unheard of in three speeds. I wish I vould find a original floor shifter.

Makes me want to go picking down there. Thanks for the great pictures!

Wow...what a beautiful time capsule...just awesome to even look at :)

I love the 1962 and older front bumper, and doors...and I agree with comments from Living In the Past, and Walton, if ever there was a Cruiser I would love to own, this would be it...just too awesome...and if I had the money, I know I would spend way too much just to have it...

Any news on what the future holds for this old Cruiser?

Thanks for posting these pics. Do you have any more?

X3 Johnny I know you have seen it.

A few more things I noticed. The light on the rear license is wrong. The back setion of the soft top appears to have the twist operate from the inside. I know this was a aftermarket top. Maybe this was done to add a little security since it has hard doors on the front which could be locked. One of those keep the honest people out. If this was at a classic car show or auction you might expect to see someone with dress pants and sports coat in the picture. But inside a barn jeans and a tee shirt would be the norm. Funny how different people dress in other parts of the world. I find it interesting.

Would like to see a good picture of the back side of the front turn signals. 61/62 had dual lenses. Amber front, red back.
