Getting ready to purchase a Hell Creek 4" lift for my 40 and want to order some Bilstien 5125 shocks at the same time. I don't want to have to order/install the springs and then measure extended and compressed lengths for the shocks.

I have stock shock towers. So, who has a 4" list and still remembers the measurements for the shocks mounting point at full compression and extension?

I measured the shocks that came with my Hell Creek Lift. The Bilstein 5125s that were closest to those measurements are:

BE5-6249-H5 for the rear - 11.94" of travel - 29.7 extended and 17.91 collapsed

BE5-6253-H5 for the front - 8.6" of travel - 22.5 extended and 14.06 collapsed

Good luck!

Are you sure about those measurements for the rear shocks?
That seems awful long to me.
The static measurement for my rear shocks is about 20", with 4" HFS springs and 2" over shackles. The #'s you gave would only allow 2" of compression travel.

D'oh! You're right. I messed up when I ordered mine (about a year ago). When I posted, I just looked back at my reciept and wrote down the numbers here on Mud. I had forgotten that I ordered the wrong ones the first time around, because I wrote a 9 instead of an 8. Stupid mistake on my part both times! It should be the BE5-6248-H5 with an extended length of 25.93 and a collapsed length of 15.91. That just goes to show why you should always measure your suspension when you order shocks. Thanks for catching my mistake! :p

No worries.
I just finished putting my lift on and wanted to be sure.
I expect the springs to break in some and that compressed measurement on the 6249's is close to what I have now.
Thanks for the clarification.
