Floor being replaced.

It was not really bad but its much easier to replace the whole thing rather than repairing spots on it and it allows me to sand blast any underlying rust.

Looks like the surgery is going well. Which welder are you using?

\Litttle 110 welder that is a real struggle compared to my 220 unit.

Good guess, he is the buyer.

Now who is the seller?

Hint he sells land........

Looking good :)

yes, it was mine, I sold it to Yooper, Rob came down to my place and took it back to his place in BC for the work, then off to Yooper...........I kinda miss that 82.....I think my other 82 also misses it........;)

Prolly does John............. its a very clean truck and I enjoy working on such clean rigs.

Frame is unreal clean, best I have ever seen.

I treid not to buy junk :) frame on my green one is alot nicer :D

curious, do you think there had been previous body work done on it? pretty sure the right front fender had been repaired, maybe the right rear fender well(not sure why I think that though)

Yep, several small areas repaired poorly with bondo.

Still lots to work with.

Hey! Thanks for telling me about this thread!

Looking good, though. I like seeing new steel. Great news on your opinion of the frame!

Keep the pics coming. :D

Forgot the camera today, you will be surprised as the floor is in and the roof is off.

Was not in the plans but it needs to be done right and for the few minutes it took to take the rear doors and roof off will be well worth the effort.

Sean, this may have some of the typical (hate to use that frase) cruiser rust but I have never worked on a 40 were some penitrating oil has allowed every bolt to come free, including the front blinklers..........

rob,

are you using some specialized drill for cutting through the spot welds? I'd seen literature on such a product, but wasn't aware it gave such good looking (at least from the pics) results.

Nice work, can't wait to see more...

More good news. You know I want it done right.

If it makes a difference in what you do, I WILL be taking the top off every summer...I'll probably always leave the doors on, though.

and this 40 lived its whole life in western wa :)
