Yes, its a spot cutting tool, makes life easy. Cuts around the weld, you can feel when its through after some practise.

rob,

are you using some specialized drill for cutting through the spot welds? I'd seen literature on such a product, but wasn't aware it gave such good looking (at least from the pics) results.

Nice work, can't wait to see more...

The rear door lower sill area, I noticed almost what looked like a pinhole, In knowing these trucks I know to look at the spot welds and if they looked very deep there is rust behind.

Sorry guys and gals, been a slow go this week.,

Finger sanding the corners edges and pulling lockes, lotsa small tedious stuff.

I did not have my camera today but I will post up a lower rear door sking I replaced which will show you what lies behind what appears to be a tiny bit of rust.

Looking good in primer! Looking forward to seeing that door skin.

Thanks for the update Rob! Quality over speed! I'd love to have the truck home before summer is over, but not at the expense of missing important rust repairs!

LOL! Yeah, Rob's just doing some mild rust repair and a repaint. The mechanicals are in great shape. This truck was really nice before he started - it's going to be amazing when he's done!

Roof top white is painted base clear on friday.

I use a rust neutrilizer were sand blasting is not a option, gently puss it with the compressed air into the nooks.

Heres were I am at.

does it cost extra to puss it? :flipoff2:

reciever or giver

I thought "pussing" was receiving. I was the under the impression he was giving it? It must be a slang canadian phrase. I love the Canadian culture. They have me laughing all the time.

Why thank you, glad to have given you a moment of laughter.

And yes we Canuks are a fun culture, as you may know....... we all live in igloos and at this time of year the ice is melting and making it real hard to restore landcruisers..........

Couple more shots.

Once of the top painted base clear.

Another of a bit more rust to blast, also it gives you some idea how much silicone the PO had put on this rig, all over in a effort to keep the water out I guess. What a PITA, chemical does not touch it, has to be peeled and sanded off.

PO also put some cheesey weather stripping on the roof side and many other various places in a effort to keep it quiet????

Lots of hours removing the gummy residue left behind after its peeled.
