There is a lot already in the works to make this one of the best Rubithon's ever. I'm still sorting out many of the details, but as we have them confirmed I will make sure to post up here. You can also check out Rubithon.com (currently in the process of updating.) Also the ad with registration will be in the next issue of Toyota Trails.

A few things we know for sure:

The event WILL be held June 18th - 23rd. If it is determined to still have too much snow to safely get to the Springs, we will host the event at either Wentworth Springs or Airport Flats. Wherever we are, we will have a great time!

We have reserved the Springs, the Slabs and Dirty Dozen for our use and the Dinner and Raffle will be held on Saturday.

We will be having our inaugural "Rock Chef" Friday night hosted by Alvaro Rodriquez and you can find more information on that here https://forum.ih8mud.com/trails-events-expeditions/672151-rock-chef-i-rubithon-xxv.html

Things in the works:

The Marauder Bar looks to be held on Friday
Looking to host an RC Rock Crawling Contest and Horseshoe tournament
And a wine tasting event to help support Rubicon Trail Foundation (@ extra cost)

Seeing as how we have many people from out of the area coming to the event this year, if you are in need of a place to park your trailer or a staging spot, post up here. Many have already offered up to assist our out of towner's!

My name is Eric Agee and this is my first year as the Rubithon Chairman. Tony has done incredible things with the event, and I hope to not let him or anyone of my fellow TLCA Club members down. If you have any suggestions or questions, or would like me to email you a registration form feel free to email me at chairman@rubithon.com

Looking forward to this...

I'll be rolling with Cruiserdrew and team.

I think you'll see my 45 out there. Can't decide whether to trailer or do it old school.

I guess it will depend on how much time off work I can get. Old school will take at least two extra days.

Missed the last few, but plan to make this one now that the cruiser is running good again. Going to bring the wife for the first time, she's never been and I know she'll love it.

I'm gonna work hard to get the rig ready for this one.

Are we talking about an actual wagon run with the Legends?

I think so Doug. You'll have all your original NorCal crew with folks like me and CDan an Inverness, Powderpig, etc.

The Wagon Run will be fun this year of Andy has anything to do with it.

No legends involved, but it should be a great time. I think Eric is giving us the first slot on Wednesday of Rubithon week.

Really looking forward to it after last year partial event.

The snow could make it interesting-it's been a big year already.

Eric promises a smooth and polished exit on Sunday with dedicated crew at the tough spots on Cadillac.

I will chime in and say that i'm in for this! Pretty excited to meet you guys and wheel.

I'm in for the wagon run.

Looking forward to the RC crawler contest too!

Watch out, Woody has some pretty cool crawlers and is pretty good at running them... Just saying:popcorn:

Here is the link on the Rubithon.com website to download and print the registration for the 25th Annual Rubithon. The online store version is in the works today, with any luck it will be up tonight. If not, hopefully by then end of the week. :D

If you download it, you will want to select print to fit to ensure the borders do not get cut off!

Wagon Run Details

I wanted to list some additional info not on the sign up sheet.

The Wagon Run will Depart as scheduled on WEDNESDAY morning. 8AM sharp.
Be at Loon Lake by 7:00 for drivers meeting and inspection.

The wagon run is not just for wagons, we just do not discriminate against wagons. FJ40s are still welcome on this run. Heck we even had a Jeep one year!

We will be camping Wednesday evening at Buck Island Lake. It is not a "straight through" run. We will arrive in the Springs on Thursday afternoon.

The run will be coordinated via Ham radio. Having a ham radio in your truck is HIGHLY encouraged as we don't use CBs. We will likely have a couple of loaner hand helds.

I would like everyone on the Wagon run to contact me before the run. Can PM for details or email me at Cruiserdrew at gmail dot com.

Looking forward to it and a big hat's off to Eric for taking on the job of Rubithon chairman.

Thanks for the details Andy.

Application filled out.

Goes to Eric tomorrow.

OK, I need some guidence here.

I have an FJ45 with skinny 32 inch tires and an aussie locker in the back. I have an 8274 on the front and I have quite a bit of off-road experience. I don't mind a little body damage.

What run or runs should I sign up for?

Maybe someone with more experience can chime in here. But with 32" you will be struggling. I'd say hook up with one of the groups that are historically slower if you can't have larger tires by then. Either the wagon run, Andy's group is awesome by the way, or maybe the FJC Run.

If you look on the Rubithon.com website, under contacts, you can reach both of them from there. Looking forward to meeting you, Eric

 those jeep guys always manage to sneak in, don't they?

It really depends on how much you want the truck to resemble an FJ45 at the end. My gut feeling is that if you care about the truck's appearance, you're going to have a harder time than most with that setup, especially if you don't have some sort of slower gears.

Some will say that it's the same trail, but different runs have different speeds. Some runs have minimal spotting and you stop when someone breaks, other runs are more focused on getting everyone through clean and having minimal breakage.

If Cruiserdrew doesn't reply, send him a PM. First time I went, I chatted with him and he told me exactly what to expect, and there really were no surprises. I had a good time with his crew, and have been coming back since.

Whatever you do, though, don't follow bkcruiser
