Well I guess it's time to start my build thread. Here are the plans, starting out with a stock 1984 Toyota FJ60 that had a tired worn out 2F motor. I really didn't know the condition of the motor and I always wanted a diesel. So I set out looking for a good diesel motor. Looked at the Cummins and went to look at a few. Every time I did, they sold before I could make a decision or I had the money. As luck would have it, found a guy with a Isuzu NPR box truck that he was parting out. Went to go look at the 4BD1T motor and it looked good and started up. Bought it on the spot and pulled it out the same day. So, this is the start.

On the way to the house with my new ride. Unfortunately the tires were a little dry rotted and had a blow out. Took the spare from the 92 Tacoma and put it on and finally made it home.

What's the plan for the rest of the parts of the drive line?

The plans for now are to run the H42 and stock t-case behind the 4BD1T Diesel engine. Get everything in place and drive for a little while until my funds come in and switch to a H55.

SK8, that is twin oil filters and the plan with that is to put in the new block off plate and make it remote reservoir. This is because the adapter plate from Allmaras Machining put the starter in the location of the two oil filters

Took a trip down to Atlanta Georgia today to meet with ACC Toyota. What a great group of guys. They had a frame I needed and the price was great. Thanks Brian for the swag also. Brown Santa (UPS) brought me soom goodies. My home computer is down and I am using the work computer, thus no pictures. I will post some pictures of the new frame and the the awesome machine work from Allmaras Machining. Stay tuned for more !!!!

Yeah... ACC has treated me fair and I'll go back when I need their help again.

Does someone make an adapter to mate the yota trans to the above engine?
I would bet the 5 speed will be the preferred trans wiht an engine like this.

Got cleaning on the new to me frame. No pictures of the progress but here are some when I got it home and in the garage. Also some pictures of the adapter kit from Allmaras Machining. This kit looks awesome and bolts the stock Toyota bell housing to the 4BD1T Diesel Motor.

Here is kinda the plan for the truck. Gonna run the stock axles with a SOA kit that is on the way. Run 16x8 rims with 35x12.5 tires. Of course the diesel motor with the H42, and stock t-case. Funds are on the way and when they are available, put in the H55. As for the body, stock with a few replacement panels as needed. Gonna make a custom roof rack, and custom interior drawers made from 1" square aluminum tubing. Gonna put my TIG welding skills to the test.

Well UPS and FedEx came to the house today to bring early Christmas presents. The SOA kit from Ruff Stuff came and 100 lb. abrasive blaster from Eastwood arrived. Now the fun begins.

Well I got busy tearing the front end off this past weekend. This is so I could take measurements for the diesel. It was a pretty productive day. Thanks to Longbow (Don) for the FSM: 4BD1T Engine Manual. This is going to help me sooooo much. Next is to get the new to me frame sand blasted and painted and then start cleaning the diesel and get it painted.

Got a little more work done since this past weekend. The old trans and t-case are out and gutted the inside. Also got the doors off and the rotten tailgate off with some work from my little helper.
