Not much to report, got the old cracked oil cooler off and found this. Looks like the lower area of the inside of the oil cooler had mud in it. Hope that isn't a bad sign. Started cleaning on the exhaust manifold and the turbo but no pictures of the progress. Thinking of ceramic powder coating them both. Anybody got any ideas on what this is on the inside? Should I just clean it up real good and go with it? The picture doesn't really show it that well but it was almost like red clay mud.

The Fj is going to be put on hold for a little while. I will be trying to finish up a 95 Jeep Cherokee Rock Crawler that I have been working on also. Still looking for a rust free body for the Fj project and this is taking just a little while long than I thought. I will still be working on the diesel engine while on the Jeep. Will post some pictures of the Jeep if that is okay with everybody.

Its a 1995 Jeep Cherokee and gonna run dana 44's front and rear from a 76 Scout. Power provided by a SBC 305 mated to a 700R4 and Dana 300 w/ tereflex 4:1. Custom hood vents, recessed gas tank, frenched in filler neck, and assorted other things. Attached Images

I have five projects total. The Cruiser, Jeep, 1962 Karmann Ghia, and a 2000 Triumph Thunderbird Sport motorcycle. Well I just found a guy in sunny Florida that is gonna let me cut the back half off of a cruiser he has for a good price. Will have to drive down and do the cutting myself but should be fun. So I guess I will be back and forth on the Cruiser and the Jeep. Stay tuned !!:smokin:

The Fj project is back on at a slow pace. Will be going down to Gainesville FL for another body and frame. I will not need the frame so if anybody is looking for one, please let me know. Will put up some pics of the new body when I get her home.

It's a bad STD that I don't think that I can get rid of. It is truly a sickness called Land Cruiser.

Hugh, I have a thing for old VW's also. Here is my 64 that I done up for just cruising around and taking to shows and my 62 Ghia that is one of my next projects.;)

Hey is that red Toyota p/u for sale?

Sorry, that Toyota sold awhile back.

Well it looks like I will be making another road trip before Christmas. This time over to the Carolina's for a H55/split case set up. Guess this project is picking up speed and it is a bit over whelming.

Well I decided not to trade. It was a little too rusty and I really don't want another project right now. Got to much as it is now. Spending a ton on the current project. Oh well, it is fun as *&($#. Guess I will have to change my build thread name, it is no longer going to be rootbeer brown. The new body is red but I will be going with a different color instead. Stay tuned.

Well after 1100 miles of round trip driving, the new body is home. Next in line is to cut the top off of the red one and replace it with the the root beer brown one. The body is pretty solid except the roof. The quarter panels and rockers are awesome. There is some rust in the front floor board and the windshield channel that was discovered when the owner started stripping it. Thanks mel lowe (Deo) for helping load the FJ. Will use parts of the old body to patch the red one. This is going to be awesome when I get it all done.

well up on the list of things to get done this weekend, take the red body off the frame and put it on the rotisserie. Then start measuring and marking the top on where to cut it off. If I get it on the rotisserie, I will definitely post up some pictures.
